v.0.20 Progress Report (I)

I want to share it with you what I did in the last 8 days since the release.
First, I had to design a big bunch of new characters (DnD figurines, NPCs, enemies, etc.), although I had some already done.
After that, I redesigned the girls' characters' outfits. I think you will like them.
I discovered the old portraits I did for the characters' sheets didn't fit what I wanted, so I did new ones. I loved the old ones, but the new ones are more consistent art-wise with something supposedly drawn by a single person (Emma in this case)
Rolled up the whole characters' sheets and chose a different font for each girl (and for the MC). You can see Scarlett's (simplified) character sheet in the image.
And even then, I had time to write and render the whole first (long) scene. Around 4,000 words and 249 renders. Not having to work a regular job makes me ultra-productive!!
My wife and stepson tested the first scene yesterday and they told me they felt inside the game, so it's a good thing. Writing the scene wasn't easy, I needed to write it thinking about people who are familiar with DnD and people who haven't ever played, so I felt the rhythm was somewhat broken. They told me it felt good and it shows some of the struggles new DnD players face.

Thanks, Stryker! I started playing in 1990, so I'm a bit noob-ish compared to you 😉 I discovered while writing the update that showing D&D mechanics and rules in an AVN is more tricky than I thought, so I simplified it a lot (and invented a couple of house rules). In the end of the day, it's the MC's first time playing and it should be also fun for people who never played.

I found the sheet template online some time ago. I modified it for My Dorm (the inventory was where the portrait is). The character was rolled with 5e rules in an online generator. I gotta ask ... is that sheet based on something you found or used in the past, or is it something you created from scratch? The vibe it's giving is amazing. Also, are they playing any particular edition, or is it just "Generic D&D"?

It could be really fun but, unfortunatelu, it doesn't fit the setting or what I want to do with the DnD game in My Dorm. Adapting an official adventure to the AVN format would make a whole game by itself. But I take note, because I can use it down the road!

I wrote it thinking of both players, those who know a lot more about DnD than me, and players who never played it, so you are not lost (that's why it's the MC's first time playing). Daphne, the DM (or referee), will explain it in a way everyone can understand what's happening.
