It sounds wonderful! Unfortunately maybe I totally missed the boat on how/where to find out more and sign up to know where it’s held 😅 I so appreciate your insight and putting into words the ADHD experience! I’ve always had a difficult time finding the words for what I’m experiencing and especially now I was feeling touched/connected with “at ‘best’ ADHD is ‘tolerated’ and other times we don’t feel allowed to be there and feel like we have to shave off parts of ourselves” - sounds absolutely amazing to actually be in the IN crowd somewhere ❤️‍🩹💗

What would make it more accessible is implementing high-efficacy air filtration with frequent air changes and probably also the UV technology to kill viruses, so people can make it through without con crud or worse.

If you’re in a position to give feedback to the conference organizers, please let them know that it is not particularly welcoming to Autistic attendees when their website homepage doesn’t once use the word “Autistic” and instead makes pathologizing references to “having autism” or being “ASD.” I do not “have autism” and I do not identify as “Autism Spectrum Disorder.” I identify as Autistic (as do most, although not all, Autistic people). There are major differences between Autistic and ADHD culture and majority preferences (not to mention the intersection that is AuDHD culture). For instance, I proudly identify as ADHD and AuDHD, but consider anyone referring to me as “ASD” to be a grievous insult. They need organizers who can understand these cultural nuances. Otherwise, they should just market the conference to the parts of the neurodivergent community that they do understand.
