New Approach to Veins

I am adding vascularity to Suki for her next animation. And I am trying a new approach this time around. In the past veins were painted as a single layer and used as a colour and displacement map. This time I am drawing them in different colour groups, with the thickest veins going to a "hero" group. Whereas before the vein lines were universally blurred, this new way will let me blur them differently for veins I want to distend more, and be more rounded. This should yield more dynamic results. Should be pretty cool. :)

They are different colours only while I am painting them.

Not directly, no. All of these layers will be ultimately converted to black and white.. And some layers will be be more blurred than others, some will be more opaque than others.. And the brighter the value the more it distends from the base surface.

Interesting. So the software will render the veins differently in regard of their color?
