Honk! - A quicky update
🕑 Added 2024-09-16 19:41:51 +0000 UTCHeyho(nk) everyone! Let's talk a bit about my plans for the immediate future. If you wouldn't think about it too much, it would be pretty simple. I begin working on a new Titans build and then the FET - Titans - FET - Titans circle of (perverted) life would continue again. BUUUUT, we're slowly starting to reach October and I usually take about a month to create something Halloween inspired for FET during that month.
If you don't know, go here: HUBPOST and take a look at the spooky times standalone games. They're small games where I do something different.
Anyway, with my current schedule being derailed, I was trying to figure out what to do. Would I instead of my normal FET Halloween inspired one-month-build, do a 18Titans one? That could be fun and different, right? But I still have half of September! I don't want to take that long for a standalone mini-build. Then maybe... a normal build for Titans with a Halloween addition or something? Hmmm... I wasn't really making any sort of progress on making a decision.
At first I wanted to add a poll with a lot of different options, but unless there would be a really ,reaaally clear outcome that would just worsen things. So instead... I'm going to postpone my decision and just do a normal Titans again for now. I'll see if I have enough time to do another standalone Halloween themed FET game again in October once it's October and a new Titans build is done. The best pone is postpone!
With that out of the way I can finally start working on a real new build again. I have already been working on builds of course, but currently just on the latest 1.1.0c FET build. I'm still getting small bug reports(thanks!) and have been taking my time to find and correct those. I want to release a d version in a few days.
Some of those bugs were caused by my new pen mouse! Well... by me of course, but because the pen mouse is top heavy and it's buttons are more difficult to press, I can (for example) accidentally drag folders in the wrong places. If I press a button on the side of the pen I push the pen to the side in its entirety and miss my mark. I haven't found a solution for that(I tried), but I HAVE found a solution for the pen mouse being top heavy.
At first i was using a fishing line with a counterweight(it was a really weird looking contraption) taped to the pen. That worked, but not super well so now I'm just using a ring with a hook, which works great! Ps, if you want to feel how awful it is to use a top heaving pen mouse, tape a battery to the end of your pencil and try to use that for a while!
I wouldn't say my hand is as good as it was before I managed to make it a bit fucky, but this is absolutely a major step to lessening my problems with it. I just have to remember to not overdo things. I'm still getting alternative mice too! It has become an addiction! You can see one of them in the top left corner on the pic above and I still have another one on its way.
As I was buying new/weird mice I also tried to order a spare for my other PEN! The drawing tablet one, but my drawing tablet is apparently too old so I had to go to find a second-hand one. You can never have enough spares of your favorite tool!
So that's about where things stand. I'll work on a new Titans build which will be ready in October, fix some more bugs and update the last early access version for FET in a couple of days and if I have enough time in October to do something special for Halloween like a new Spookytimes, I will.

If you make a Titans with Christmas then maybe it would make the most sense if you made that around december right now im really curios about what you are gonna be doing with the Titans build and your plans for Blackfire like what is gonna happen when we break her down completely again i think it would be hot if she became some kinda toy for Starfire but that might just be might kinda dark mind

I can’t blame you on that front but dnd law applies to all logic of life imo. And rule of cool is the biggest law. And 18 titans spooky times, definitely cool!

It's been so many years since I played the beginning of the love route for Book 4, but I don't think it was too quick there. Sometimes it's a nice change of pace for a girl to catch feelings and be more forward, but this Slave Epilogue is also really good fun too. The embarrassment and not wanting to admit to herself, it's like a Tsundere but ACTUALLY good and not just violent anime trash.

I can only agree on them becoming slowly less horrible... but that's as far I will walk with you on that! Say did you know there's like these silicone sex toy feet you can order? I just came upon them the other day and was wondering whether they'd make for good reference material. Normally I don't use any for anything, but I might need to make an exception for feet... if only so I'll be constantly reminded how many toes go one each one : )

Ah, yeah... it would be such a great opportunity to give characters with not nearly enough exposure during FET an extra chance to shine. Something which I didn't make proper use of with the last Spooky times.

Bless you for that suggestion and opinion... but... I tried making a cross-over game once (omnitrixx)and boy did I hate it! Ill matching art styles is just the beginning of it. I gave it a try but I don't think that's a path I'm willing to walk anytime soon again.

I'm basically just using October as an overflow valve as things are : ) so I might end up doing what you say! we'll see...

Maybe the new one will work better? I don't know, I might have to update my software again to a newer version to prevent this sort of thing. Anyone else with MAC problems? Please send me a dm if this problem is also present in the latest d version and I'll try and create a special version for you to see if I can figure out the problem/fix for it.

The love route was... well I think I dropped the ball with how Jinora was all over the MC so quickly and I really didn't want to make that mistake again. ps. The first Titans build was made in two weeks! It's possible... but not easy.

One of my ideas in the past was to have Shady be scrooge... but the spirits of Christmas would never be able to convince him of anything because he can already jump through time without them : )

Yeah, the latest is v1.1.0 and that's indeed a tier two perk.

Big bellies are awesome, but ruin the possibilities to have older scenes accessible in any sort of logical way... so it will either have to be some sort of nightmare/wet dream which the MC will be or at the veeeery end.

I've been wanting to get into sculpting for a while now... maybe that could be fun and helpful too.

Thanks for the suggestion. Though to be honest, as much as I like anime as anyone else, when it comes to making games I generally prefer slightly older western cartoons. I guess it's because I watched those a lot more in my youth. Not ruling anything out, but just wanting to let you know where I generally stand.

With what's on the table I'd say just clean up the current FET build and get it nice and polished and then get a titans halloween mini game out instead of another update, or as another possibility do something normal for the next couple months and release a christmas game with either FET or 18titans

Hear me out MITY how about a Thanksgiving or Christmas 18Teens build. Starfire in a Naughty Santa get up sound like a fun time. Could even go with a grinch (slade stole christmas)/ or scrooge (raven) theme. or a Starfire first of whatever holiday.

I would have wanted you to take more time for the Halloween rather than try to squeeze something out. Also, the previous update was just what the doctor ordered! Glad to make progress with Jinora, her hesitancy and being embarrassed while enjoying the kissing was quite nice.

For FET, Spookytimes3 did leave quite a bit out for more potential additions to it (Like Toph being stuck at wall & nothing more), If lookin for an idea on how to continue it for this year. But for 18titans It'd be a whole new start. Pretty much can come up with anything & It can work out~

I personally like the idea of throwing in a little nod to Halloween in the new build. Though, I've never really cared for the holiday to begin with, so I don't really have a leg to stand on as far as voting its inclusion. Lol.

Hmm I would've voted you take the extra time this month and use it to develop a girthier Halloween special - you always come in right on the wire saying you wish you had more time... But now you're in a position where you have just that 🙂 If you don't do a Halloween special this year, I'd still opt for skipping a end of Sept release and just giving more time to whatever is released in Oct. Already half way through September now, so to me it seems like a no-brainer; but do what fits best with the creative flow & hand health.

I love the story more than holiday specials. But id love something Halloweeny for FET, maybe a special story that may or may not be canon (all I care is too see a hot sukka scene,yes just sokka and Suki)

An 18titans spooky times sounds incredible ngl. Like haunted mansion in wayne manor could be cool. Starfire as a ghost, raven as a weird floating head in a ball, cyborg as frankenstein.

I don't know about other people but I would much rather have a finished new FET/18titans build to test than a standalone special build. That's just my personal opinion. But take your time and do what feels right for you. You've done amazing work since the beginning and I'm sure you'll continue to do so. Really looking forward to what you have in store for us 😊
