Hope you all had a great start to 2025! Mine was quite good. My day job has started back up, so work on the game has slowed down a little. However, I’m down to the last scene, and after that, I’ll be tackling the H-scene animations.
Currently, I’m sitting at the 1k render mark and have already created some internal test builds. That’s why the beta and proofreading progress in the report finally showed its first increase in months!
Animations are quite a task, so I can’t estimate exactly how long they’ll take. Based on the last two chapters, they usually take around 1-2 weeks. The timing will also depend on how satisfied I am with the quality and how detailed I decide to make them. Since I want to improve on the animations from version 0.2, I’m expecting it to take a bit longer to ensure they’re up to my standards.
To share some of my recent thoughts with you: I’ve been considering ways to deliver updates more frequently without compromising quality. One idea is to stick to my current release scope but aim for releases maybe like every ~2 months, labeled something like 0.4a.0 or 0.4.0-Mar whereas the next release would be 0.4b.0 or 0.4.0-May. Essentially, I’d wrap up the available scenes in a build and release it. However, I’m doubtful this approach would work well, as there might be times when I’m unable to dedicate much time to the game, resulting in smaller releases. Nothing is final here, it’s just an idea I’m tossing around. As I mentioned in previous devlogs, my current goal is to move towards smaller updates overall, increasing the version number by 0.1 with each release. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the first approach, though! It might be the worst idea ever, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

I feel like in 2 months I could get like 2-3 scene out, at most. Quite a task and I also need to keep in mind all the different branches I have with the girls currently. Thanks for the heads up! =)

No need to rush but do what you feel best. If an update goes smoothly and is ready in 2 months great! If not, we'll wait, no worries! We know art takes time 😊

Totally right :D but it's the same as with feelings, you can't just turn them off, unfortunately. We all want to see more sooner rather than later, heh. Thanks for your advice, though! <3

Nice update as per usual Panda.. as I keep saying for any devs.. don't feel like you ever have to rush anything out.. just put it out then when you are happy with the quality/content.. we are all here for it either way.. Also can't wait for the h*** h****** with Lucy

My advice: No pressure. Don't put yourself in a tight corset. Just go and create at your own pace where you feel comfortable. You need to enjoy shaping this. Pressure doesn't help. Otherwise you might burn out, rush things at the cost of quality or simply loose interest. Or anything in between. - Of course I'd love to see more sooner rather than later! :D But it doesn't work that way. At least not in a healthy, organic way. Let it grow and take the time you need. Just my 2 cent.
