I feel so much less crazy when I go to the doctor since podcasts like this help me know that the system is the issue, not me

I listened to your ozempic episode months ago, but am only now listening to this and I want to say, I deeply appreciate the work you did. I am a fat lady who tries to work against anti-fatness and I chose to go on ozempic to lose weight to help with the arthritis in my hip. (Anyone reading this - please know I’m not advocating this, to be completely honest I believe the physio therapy has made a much bigger difference for me, also, I just am not an expert). I have never felt you were telling me what to do with my body and I have never felt judged. I think you strike the balance of “here’s the science” and “you have autonomy” really well. I appreciate all the research that goes into your shows and I appreciate your approach.

Hi! I just wanted to hop on here and let you know I’ve relistened to your Ozempic episode and this reaction dozens of times. My mom had a diabetic stroke in 2011 and just got put on Ozempic instead of insulin and her a1cs are so much better, but her dramatic weight loss has been so frustrating for me and my sister (both fat) to navigate. She’s constantly preaching about how we should go on Ozempic (I have never had an a1c over 5.2), and how she didn’t realize she overate until she was on Ozempic, but she’s still 20 pounds away from being “underweight”… thanks for all the research and such a succinct summary.

Fun fact: the American "aluminum" is actually the original spelling. Oh and when people insist Melbourne "it's not Melburn, it's Melb'n" ...not in an American accent, it's not.

As an ex dietitian I adore your pods …..I was always the heretic questioning what we were advising….and why it didn’t work… Soooo informative and sooo funny often love you guys

This was a really interesting episode. I appreciate the care and information that all of your episodes have. My mom is the person who mentioned weight loss drugs to me. She asked if I heard of them and if I wanted to take them. I love her, and it was a really sad experience.

I thought y'all did a great job moderating the struggles with this issue. I'm on wegovy and extremely conflicted when I try to square it with my support for fatter people. Your episode made me feel heard while helping me stay on course with supporting other choices and other bodies. ❤️

Interesting Vox article on semaglutides effect on liking versus wanting in the brain and other off lane uses, though very light on discussion of potential side effects: https://www.vox.com/science/24086968/glp-1-ozempic-semaglutide-craving-desire-science-wanting-liking-opioids-alcohol

I'm really sad this isn't called "Catching a Semaglu-tude about Semaglutides", but I can be OK 🤣 Love you both!!!

I would happily listen to an hour and 45 minute episode! ❤️

Omg perfect comment 🤣

Charlie.

It's okay, Mike. Peter can handle it. It will give him something to do besides putting up those shelves.

Quick question - at 16:30 in the public Ozempic episode Aubrey says "except this is not roughly the same thing and is hazardous to human health. Semaglutide sodium is not cleared for use in humans because it is bad for humans." Is it known to be hazardous, or it's not studied so we don't know it's safe? If it's been found to be hazardous I'd like to share that with some friends.

I love how these comment sections are mostly all positive comments or respectful constructive criticism.

Your work is amazing & so are boundaries. Thank you for your thoughtfulness about the show AND about yourselves. Please take care and I'll queue up my re-listenables!

Thank you both for all you do! I hope this new schedule, whatever it turns out to be, gives you both some quality rest and sustainable balance❤️
