Rook Wolf

just as a suggestion if baldurs gate wins, but a wolfkind race would be amazing too.

Wyldcard

I’m praying BG3 pulls ahead, because I’ll be honest, I don’t care much for starfield as a game. I’ve been meaning to go back and beat BG3 finally, and a tabaxi mod would 100% convince me to do it lmao

Abraham the Heavy

starfield already has one in progress aswell from the skyfurry team

Abraham the Heavy

there is a goblin mod for bg3 which does have some racial dialogue so it probably is already possible to do.

Varik Ares

when you go back to Cyberpunk 2077 will you add an option for a pug and doberman species because of the safe and sound episodes?

Jeska Shepard

Now that you mention geckos/iguanas for inspiration for lizard models, if you havent, PLEASE look at the geckos in fallout new vegas. They can be really cute if they dont try to bite your face off.

CobaltOwl

Thanks! I've uploaded the environmental asset textures to: https://i.imgur.com/m5J31uf.png. I think that's everything in the mod, though it's possible I've missed something

loch wyrm

I really appreciate the quality and attention to detail in your mods. Would you consider uploading the advert art you used for your exotics mod to patreon?

CobaltOwl

That's an interesting idea. Given how hostile the WH40K community tends to be toward furry stuff, giving them a scrupulously lore-accurate furry mod be kind of funny, actually. Definitely something to think about for future projects.

CobaltOwl

Maybe- I think I'd want to start with a canine and feline model, since those are pretty popular and can be varied slightly to create a lot of different options. After that, I'll need to decide on one or two additional species models. I kind of want to try a mustelid model, since that's something I haven't done before, and otters, ferrets, and so on might fit well with the slightly more nerdy/cozy tone of the game. Lizards are another obvious choice- dragons might clash slightly with the aesthetic, but something more gecko or iguana-inspired could work well. Maybe even something dinosaurian. It may just come down to how quickly I'm able to develop new species. The Cyberpunk mod took something like seven months to finish- in part because of difficulties with the RED engine- but I'm hoping to finish the next mod a lot more quickly. If I can make good time in the initial development of the mod, there should be a lot of time to add extra species, but if not, the selection may end up more limited.

Saltheili

Would there be an option for a Reptilian species for the Starfield mod if you pursued that one?

Abraham the Heavy

also as a suggestion for the next poll i think Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is right up your alley of game (tactical rpg), a furry mod for it would also be lore friendly because there is a abhuman furry race in the imperium the felinids(no official art for them exist so their canon appearance is up for interpretation), no idea how doable the game is gonna be for modding though

Abraham the Heavy

If BG3 does make it i hope there will also be support for the strong body type so it becomes possible to make some big cats

Psy Chuan

I would hold off on Starfield until the mod tools are out, personally. I'm excited for it, but I also wanna play Tabaxi in Baldur's Gate 3. 🥺

Quillan

Honestly, despite the poll looking like it will end in starfield... you should probably just do Baldur's Gate instead regardless of the result. Starfield isn't a game with any passion put into it, Baldur's gate 3 is an infinitely more complex - and rewarding experience. While Baldur's Gate 3 might be a more difficult and challenging game to mod a new species into, Starfield just... isn't worth your time in my opinion.

Czyrek-Marc

would love to see this too

Jimbo

I wish the same, but I think that the switch might be to prevent burnout and it's a smart choice, it'll make sure that all the mods we get are the same top tier material we've gotten so far.

Jimbo

Same here on both accounts, imagine if we could somehow get an implant as well that allowed us to breathe fire at enemies, I'd love to have that happen at some point.

NetherHyena

I'm in agreement. I decided to support because this mod turned out so good and I wanna see it thrive

IceWolf

Honestly, i'd keep working on adding the rest of the features to the Biosculpted Exotics before starting something else.

Eldwen

At this point my hope is that since all the utterly horrible models seem to be uhh, based on what you can do in the character creation, that all/most of the work can be done once over, and the system will then just up and throw all of the humans into furries, completely replacing the human models. I'm hopeful models already made for XCOM/Cyberpunk can be adapted or even just imported into the game with the correct rigging, which someone managed to figure out over in their modding discord uhh, a few months back and made public for anyone to use.

Kira Morris

Outward is a incredible game but the character models are awful. I feel this would be a tonne of work!

Kira Morris

Can I advise you work with the steam version or other platforms than windows store. That version has trouble with mods due to unusual structure of game files.

Quillan

Sounds cool and also sounds like an apocalyptic amount of work and debugging.

StellarFox25

I always wondered if maybe Mass Effect: Legendary Edition could be furrified. ^^ That would be sweet! Commander Shepard as a space doggo saving the galaxy. :3 All the same love the Exotic mod for Cyberpunk very cool! =^^=

RodoWodo

Yeah honestly I would like scalies or avians added to the CP2077 mod

Eldwen

The two that particularly interested me are: 1: Wartales: as a strategy game it fit your usual preferences for games, while not an XCOM or anything like that, if you take a look its still being updated, and has an interesting curve. Since the characters don't actually speak or move their mouths, it would require less rigging I suspect to add options. ((Edit: I was wrong and they do uhh, talk. Whoops, its in the dialog options only)) 2: Outward: This game is...weird, and one of its worst problems are actually the models. The humans look utterly *horrible*, but just a few months ago someone was able to crack their rigs and actually figure out how to make completely custom armors, and the same could be applied to finally changing the humans heads. Changing them into furries wouldn't just be fun, it would honestly make the game look straight up better over the horrid base game faces. Again, no mouth movement, and the options for that one only allow face/hair (like Wartales), so the total variations you need to account for are limited.

CobaltOwl

I'm definitely open to suggestions to include on the next poll. What were you thinking of?

Eldwen

So when it comes to the Starfield thing...I know of a furry modding community already on it ("Skyfurry") hense why I didn't vote for it. Likewise, BG3 probably has someone working the Tabaxi (Fantastical Multiverse) With both in mind, I threw my hat into Elden Ring - would be nice to see and I doubt anyone else is throwing their hat into that ring. I got some rather off-the-wall suggestions I'd be willing to toss out as well, that could be pretty dang interesting to furrify that I doubt others would try with.

Cian K. Cagemoe

doing the lords work, I wish there was a scaly mod for cp2077 but Ill take what I can get

Jeska Shepard

See if you two can work together, go Through the Races you two can do quicker together and then do your npc replacers, dialouge and enviro edits as a seperate mod

CobaltOwl

That's a reasonable suggestion- I might do that. The only downside I can think of now is that I may want to make additional changes like tabaxi npcs, environmental edits, or custom dialog, which might not fit well with their mod.

Xenotype

Honestly if you go with Baldur’s Gate I would get in touch with the dev of Fantastical Multiverse over on Nexus Mods since Tabaxi, Leonin, Owlin, Kenku, Lizardfolk, Loxodon, and Tortle are on their to-do list. The two of you could probably get through Tabaxi and Leonin a lot faster together than separately.

Ataxio

Don't play any of these games. Mainly came here to support the Cyberpunk mod. Hopefully additional content gets added down the line. Was really hoping for scaly stuff.

Chakat MidnightSkye

Hmm... for longer duration I'd say it's have to be a sleeve. Even for short duration it wouldn't be a particularly pleasant to have a tail curled up like a spring, but doable in an emergency. It would especially be an issue if the tail is functional, as in assists with balance, but in that case having it stuffed into a pouch or wound around the waist inside the suit might significantly inhibit the anthro's mobility. that said the tail cover other than length should be fairly uniform between species, the fur would likely just get squished down meaning us Vulpine are looking at a good long tail brushing session after getting out a Vacsuit. And yea the lack of the Creation Kit is going to be a stumbling block, I'm still for Starfield, but if it's looking like a real blood from a stone situation BG3 is my second choice.

Natsil

There is no tool for BGIII either, so the problem remains the same.

Shining Artemis Moon

i vote for Elden Ring - Half-Animal Tarnished: cause a anthro animal or Lion Tarnished would be awesome

CobaltOwl

I may have to do that if I'm not able to create a model replacement only affecting the player. However, if Starfield wins, I'd like to take some time to experiment with the game assets, and see what work-arounds I can find for the missing CK. The mod won't be complete until the tool is released, but I might still be able to create something playable in the mean time- and the more time I spend working on models beforehand, the more quickly I can wrap up the mod once the CK is available. That said, BGIII and the other options are a lot more likely to produce results quickly.

Jeska Shepard

Personally i think if Starfield wins, you should probably put it on hold until the CK releases and then just redo the poll without starfield in it for what to do until the CK drops.

Mereel

Also, it's a really poor time to try to be modding Starfield too, since proper tool are supposed to be released next year.

Jeska Shepard

On helmets: A lot of suits and Helmets use the same model just with different Textures, A lot of Helmets are actually quite elongated already (the mining and explorer one for example) and most helmet/suit model gets reused for different helmets and suits atleast once. Plus out of the ~40 Helmet Models the game has, around 10 of them are either fully covered with a black visor or have armor plates or other attachments that almost cover the whole face.

Stoney the Bear

Please BG3, I am DYING to make a Puma Tabaxi.

Natsil

Everyone has their own opinion, I don't think Starfield is bad, quite the contrary. It's being bashered a little gratuitously because people were way too hyped, and imagined crazy things like Star Citizen or even no man's sky, except that the game was never presented like that. Additionally it is possible to travel without the menu, just that players never press the F key in space. We have the right to like a game without necessarily being insulted behind it, and I remind you that Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't much better when it came out. It took quite a while to get it going again.

Tailled

God 39% of people actually want to contribute to the dumpster fire that is Starfield... Only a Skyrim Ultimate like mod will make that game worth playing and that took Skyrim modders YEARS to gather for such an amazing change and even before that Skyrim's gameplay and story was still better than Starfield... I'm all for BG3, but especially Elden Ring because the new DLC is imminent guys. I wanna play a proper furry in Elden Ring DLC when that is released other than the Maliketh mod.

CobaltOwl

That's definitely the case- I'd expect the Starfield mod to take somewhat longer than the BG3 one. I probably will need to modify all of the helmets to prevent clipping- though depending on how many are in the game, I may have to resort to using the same small set of custom models on multiple suits. On the tails, I wonder: would make more sense lore-wise to have the tails in form-fitting sleeves, or have them curled up inside some sort of pouch? Would a pouch like that be uncomfortable for anthros? Would fitting a tail into an airtight sleeve be annoyingly difficult?

CobaltOwl

It looks like Starfield using the .nif format, like Skyrim and Fallout, although with the addition of a new .mesh format. NifSkope is being updated to support that at https://github.com/niftools/nifskope/issues/232 - the update appears to be partially functional now, and may hopefully be fully functional by the time the poll ends. There also appears to be a new Blender import/export tool for the .mesh format at https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/4360.

VoidWalker

The latter option is something i’ve been considering myself but if the player models are unique how would you replace it? Do you need a blender plugin or a specific program?

CobaltOwl

The idea would be to start with a pure player model replacement - I haven't looked closely at the files yet, but in most games, the player head model is separate from the models used for NPCs, so replacing that with various anthro species would get the mod started in a playable state. If all of the models are shared between the player and NPCs, I'll need to find some work-around- though worst case, I can still get started on the modelling and then turn it into something playable pretty quickly once the CK is released.

Chakat MidnightSkye

Ehr... this is a difficult one, On personal taste, I'd say roll Starfield - but I'm unsure how much work your going to have in regards to space suits. unless your planning on modifying nearly every helmet we're working with a limited amount of space between the face and the visor, longer muzzled species. Not to mention being fully enclosed vacuum rated space suits will need tail cover to boot to match the different suits, or at least the different styles of suit (and thats assuming we discount digitigrade as that'd requite modifying every outfit, not just the space suits). Baldur's Gate III would probably be the easier option.

VoidWalker

I feel like they’re all good options here but i have question, if you were to make a new race for starfield how would you go about doing it without creation kit?

Natsil

Guys seriously, Baldur's gate 3 already have a Tabaxi race in progress. they work on it with "Fantastic multivers" mod.

Natsil

Starfield Yes, I would really like a Tabaxie type race, but I tell myself that in the end this mode is already in production by another modder, so it would be overkill. Fallout 4 already has quite a few anthro mods. While Stafield is quite new and especially when I see the work on cyberpunk, I can't help but think that the work is just great.

Kira Morris

Heck. This is a difficult choice. You have such incredible skill and experience. I'm going to vote starfield if only because bg3 race mods are somewhat immersion breaking since there still seems to be no implementation of extra racial reactions in the dialogue checks yet. Feels like that would be a lot of extra work. As an aside though it Tabaxi do win out as a professional writer myself and a huge fan of dungeons and dragons I volunteer to help write that if you do figure out how to get it in.

MetroPex

Argonians, Lupines, Vulpines, Sharks and robot furries are available on the Nexus right now for Fallout 4. I helped out with the Vulpines, really good lip sync too.

Varik Ares

Please the fallout 4 one sounds really cool I want it

Wyldcard

PLEASE BALDUR’S GATE 3 I HAVE SO MANY TABAXI CHARACTERS I WANT TO PLAY AS
