Mr. White Your comments give me the impression that you consider operation pedestal a failure. The risks were overwhelmingly apparent from the start and losses were inevitable. It is well documented that the decision making weighed heavily on the shoulders of all those responsible. For two long years the British empire had fought the Nazi's practically on their own. Resources and shipping were stretched thin. The Mediterranean was considered unsafe for major shipping. Supplies destined to the middle- and far east took the long route around Africa. Sending a suply convoy through the Mediterranean sea to Malta was tremendously perilous, but considered essential in order to keep control over the Island.

Unbelievable. Why did the Brits not send destroyers ahead to hunt subs before beginning their escort duties? Why not mount an operation to hit at least some of the Italian and German bases in advance? Why did they not load the diversion convoy with supplies? Why did the admiral not make more effort to keep his convoy together and organized? So many questions about how this operation went so badly. Hard to watch, but definitely up to the standard we expect from Operations Room. Well done!

I know the good guys can't win every battle, and I've read stories and/or watched videos detailing many of these occurrences, but this story has to be one of the most difficult and frustrating I've ever viewed. Still an excellent video, just hard to watch without wanting to scream for vengeance.

There's a hull in your hole... uh I mean a hole in your hull

Seeing the skill on display from the merchant navy crews, despite not manning in warships really demonstrates their bravery in the face of unrelenting attack

Not gonna lie, being recently interested in history channels, never realized how operation pedestal had such a big impact in the early war, and the amount of armament and assets participating. Impressive how a single submarine in the right place at the right time, did all of this. Also really loved the stuka diving pattern turned out in the animation, great job guys.
