One of the Biggest Offensives of the War in Afghanistan - Operation Panther's Claw 2009
🕑 Added 2025-10-04 22:27:20 +0000 UTCOperation Panther’s Claw is one of the largest offensives of the Afghanistan War. In the summer of 2009, thousands of troops of an Anglo-Danish battlegroup launch a major assault in Helmand Province to drive the Taliban from key territory ahead of Afghan elections. The operation tests the limits of modern counterinsurgency—combining infantry assaults, helicopter insertions, and fierce close-quarters combat in scorching heat. Despite early gains, British forces face determined resistance, hidden IEDs, and the challenges of holding newly captured ground.

What an interesting video, as a Dane we followed this closely. What a wise move it was to add the tanks, regardless of cost. Allso interesting is the use of drones back then. The video would be a little better with a bit of intro to the reasons behind the Afghan conflict.
