Important Changes...

We wanted to take a moment to update you on some important changes we’re making to our subscription model. These adjustments are designed to better align with Steam’s TOS and enhance the value of each tier for our supporters.
EDIT: Reminder, all patrons who have contributed more than 18$ through the years can get a steam key for FREE if requested in a PM.
Key Updates:
Beta Builds: Starting in January, all builds released here will be designated as 'Beta' builds. Once polishing and bug-hunting are complete, the finalized build will head to Steam.
The finalized build will also be made available here, exclusively to supporters at the Aristocrat tier.
New Crusader Tier: We’re introducing a new $6 tier called the Crusader Tier, as part of our efforts to rework and improve the value of each tier.
Tier Delay: Instead of a 5-day delay, beta builds will now pass through each support tier with a 7-day delay.
To clarify, the beta builds may be 2-3 builds ahead of each finalized steam release. While the finalized steam release will be the most polished experience, the betas will, for the most part, always be ahead content wise. (If a little buggier.)
Transition Timeline:
We will honor all current Infantry Knight subscriptions up to this point, with the current build releasing under the old model in the next 5 days.
After this release, we will fully transition to the new model outlined above.

We will try to update steam as often as possible but as you know steam is heavily review based we can update unpolished stuff. As saves will break and stuff will be off from update to update as we continue to add into the world. So 1) we have to reward our patros for the extra support. 2) We need to polish updates and bug fix to the smallest detail.

Basically, pay to be beta tester and if you want the finished product you pay as well on steam or fork out 18usd a month... Greed is one thing but this is a bit over the top.

Hi! I'm a player on Steam, and had hoped that the Steam version would keep pace with the Patreon version (simultaneous release) -- but I understand very much considering Steam is a one-time-purchase over Patreon's monthly subscription model. While I do hope the delay for Steam releases isn't too long behind / too far apart, I'm happy to support via Steam regardless. Thanks for the breakdown, and apologies if I might've misunderstood the details in the post. Happy new year!

The betas themselves will be supported just to clarify, obvious game breaking stuff will be patched and dealt with so we're not planning on letting people play totally bust builds. We'll also, by request, if we can see someone's supported the equivalent cost, even if they're a lower tier, we will give out a steam key for a finalized build. So, hypothetically, if a crusader tier support has been with us for 3 months. They can get a steam key. Steam builds are actually always going to be behind patreon builds because they'll be the more polished builds, but supporters will be playing the latest stuff as it comes.

I personally prefer going through Patreon then Steam since Steam has made it clear now that buying a game on their platform doesn't mean you own a copy of it. That being said, with these new tiers, going from the $3 or $6 ones to $18 is a very big ask imo for the polished product for us subscribers. I'm curious to know how this equates upgrading to that degree cause for me it doesn't seem worth it.

Infantry Knight tier is not being removed or replaced. It is being altered along with the other tiers slightly. We can give out steam keys upon request if the person has paid equivalent to what it is on steam, so there's no squabble from Steam. Each tier is now going to get an additional 48 hours with each beta build, alongside other perks that will be listed dependent on the tier selected. The hope being it makes each tier feel a little more exclusive and valued. We're looking into what other perks and things we can also offer.

Is the Infantry knight tier being removed or replaced? Will beta keys be distributed for steam owners that also contribute here? How does an increase in time from build completion to distribution to contributers increase the value of the method of investment contributers use?
