Any shows or movies you've been trying to cover for WAC or WACM but haven't been able to so far?

Tashmon Dimps

Congratulations on Ten Years of Podcasting, you guys!!! I discovered What a Cartoon all the way back in 2019 near the start of college. I went to the School of Visual Arts in New York City to study 2D Animation, so naturally I sought out as much animation history related material as I could to supplement the practical art skills I was learning at the time. I believe my first episode was the first OK KO deep dive, since I adored the hell out of that show and I find Ian JQ interviews to be a great source of joy (seeing as I am, myself, a black cartoonist). Since then I’ve listened to every WAC (Regular & Movie) and catch as many Talking Simpsons, Futuramas and Blabbing About Batmans as I can. I’ve even put a couple of my college friends onto What A Cartoon over the years, if they’ve needed background noise for crunch time. I truly do have to commend you both for putting in as much effort as you do into creating in-depth, entertaining oral histories for every show, movie and sitcom episode you cover (even if it stinks!) As someone who tries to finds the vast majority of Animation YouTube/podcasting scene to be painfully mediocre, you guys have been a breath of fresh air! I won’t lie, though, life’s been weird after college. With the state of the animation industry being what it is and me, personally, struggling to find my footing as an artist and a fledgling adult in a hostile, unstable world, I feel grateful that I still have your many podcasts as a source of comfort and inspiration. Here’s to another 10 Years of Spider-Man info dumps and impromptu 9/11 references! You’re my favorite Elder Millennials in the world!! Sincerely -Tashmon

How do your moves to BC and WA affect the minuate of actually recording? As a former radio jock, I'd love to hear some of the behind-the-scenes technical aspects of how a recording worked in Berkeley versus one now. How much material do you find yourselves having to cut out to make a tight finished product? (How has this improved over time?) Thank you for your dedication to quality. As someone who now travels thousands of miles per month, *Taking Simpsons* is an oasis from the stress of life.

As a listener of "Four finger discount" as well as TS, why didnt you recognise that the podcasters featured on the Simpsons were your competitors? I remember you both saying they used "some random podcasters" when its been confirmed by Matt Selmon that they modelled the podcasters after the Australian four finger discount hosts. Seems like you were salty 😂

Longtime Patron, first time caller, and congratulations on 10 years of TS and the creation of a great podcast empire. If there were still phone books, I would tune in every week to hear you read those. My favorites are definitely the live shows. I've been to every one going back to PianoFight in 2018, and wondering if given the state of US relations with the rest of the planet, there's ever a chance for more live events in the future?

Found Talking Simpsons when someone recommended it when Breath of the Wild released. I spent a lot of hours listening to ya'll while playing the game and jumped right on the patreon when it started a few months later. I actually hadn't seen any simpsons prior to your podcast but got into watching from the first episode so i could listen along. I really love What A Cartoon as a big animation dork and ya'll do a great job with the history segments. Learning more about shows i grew up with or had never seen before is always great.
