Bob calling his parrot a “filthy chicken” reminded me the one time I got to sit in Premium Economy there was an actual chicken on the seat ahead of me Apparently it was a show chicken on its way to a competition

I slept on the floor at the Toronto Pearson airport on Christmas Eve trying to visit my wife in Quebec. Air Canada customer service was so dismal... I have a propane smoker, it works like Bob said, the propane flame heats the wood chips to make smoke and you control heat with a mix of steam and by lowering or raising the fire. It does not work as good as the other options, but it does work. I have made some very good smoked meats and vegetables with it over the years and also some crummy ones.

This is my favorite KOTH episode. I often watch it before I travel. One thing that just occurred to me. Wouldn’t Hank’s turkey go bad simply sitting in a cardboard box. I believe he used plastic wrap, but it was at least 24 hours after he cooked it that Bo Mb squad destroyed it. Let’s say they did make it to Montana, it would have been at least 30 hours without being refrigerated. Could have given food poisoning.

The extra insult to injury I noticed is what appears to be the same turkey leg that Hank denies Bobby hits the airplane window right in front of his face after the explosion.

I've had good travel experiences and awful ones. None of my bad experiences have been related to timeliness though. I live near Boston and if I'm flying out of there then, yeah, get there about 2 hours before boarding for a stress-free experience. My parents though live very close to the airport in Manchester, NH so I fly out of there as much as possible. I've timed it and it's taken me just over 20 minutes to go from their house to the waiting area past security without pre-check. It's awesome so I'll absolutely wait until I'm an hour away from boarding before heading there. And their security is so lax which often screws me up at bigger airports. I never know if I can leave my electronics in my carry-on or if they have to come out. NH doesn't give a shit, but the one in Orlando has flagged me for not taking it out. You would think there would be a standard, but whatever. And by far, my worst travel experience occurred in January 2023. My family and I, which included my parents, aunt, and sister's family of four, had the misfortune of trying to fly to Disney World the day the FAA experienced a massive outage. Our flight was delayed by hours, and worse was our connecting flight in Baltimore was cancelled. Trying to scramble and rebook during a chaotic outage for 11 people sucked. We ended up going from NH, to MD, to Chicago, to Orlando over the course of about 22 hours. I have a picture of all the kids just passed out at baggage claim in Orlando. No one told us that our bags were allowed to just continue on from Baltimore to Orlando so we got to experience some panic when they didn't arrive with us. They were in a holding area, but since it was after 2 AM there was no one there to tell us so it was a fun thing to sort out in a state of exhaustion. It did work out, though it took a couple of days to shake that experience off and we lost an entire day of our trip as we should have arrived around noon that day.
