Living in Quebec, Canada, was the best Simpsons-wise. In the early 00’s, we would get 4 daily doses of the show. Two back-to-back right after school (in the Quebec french dub), one at 9 on a local cable channel and another in English on Global TV. Sunday we would get the newest Simpsons on FOX (NY,VT) on top of those 4 other syndicated episodes. That helped me learn English, since in grew up in a French neighborhood and most of the province is French.

Since it came up on this show, I wrote a story a few years ago about why there are never any public restrooms to be found in San Francisco, and one reason--not the only reason, but a big one--was the successful anti-pay toilet campaign. See, the assumption was that if we get rid of pay toilets, cities would have no choice but to replace them with free toilets--because we wouldn't possibly countenance a city with no public toilets in this day and age, right? Oh dear...

Man, if you guys were annoyed by modern Simpsons referencing the Homer Walking In Bushes meme, you’re really gonna groan at an upcoming to-be-covered Futurama episode from the Comedy Central run. The episode “Murder on the Planet Express” is more or less one huge running gag of the Squinty-Eyed Suspicious Fry meme, where every character of the main cast gets a spotlight doing the meme.
