Darko Leskovsek

I think I'm done here. Have a wonderful day.

Dee Boudreau

Have you watched this interview? I am going by his own words and he said himself he committed fireable offenses. I haven't read whatever Buzzfeed article you are talking about.

Darko Leskovsek

I don't care if people have sex as long it's consensual. And it's not like he was having sex on a stage while giving a talk. Buzzfeed painted him like a rapist so talking about how he was on AA time is moving a goalpost so far back I can barely see it. Think about it... you are actually arguing we should have an atheist priesthood rather than admiting the hit piece was a malicious fabrication.

Dee Boudreau

Darko Leskovsek, it is has nothing to do with slut shaming. It should matter to nobody what he does on his own time. What he does on AA time is different. I adored this man. He had great arguements and I followed his speaking engagements and debates and he always did us proud. Had his adventures happened on his own time rather than on convention time I wouldn't have an issue. We have to hold leaders on a higher standard. This is across the board. If we expect the best out of our police force, our government representatives, our religious leaders, then surely our atheist representatives must also. He even said his behavior was fireable.

Darko Leskovsek

"Atheists are under enough scrutiny, this kind of behavior, as a representative of AA, is unacceptable. This is not welcoming behavior; it is embarrassing. Disgusting." Slut shaming much?

Dee Boudreau

The atheist community is so welcoming; people of all ex-faiths are welcome and it is such a beautiful rarity. While the religious segregate themselves, within their respective communities, atheists welcome ex-Mormons, ex-Muslims, ex-Scientologists. etc. Mr. Silverman was the president of a highly respected and long time organization. I, myself, have been a member of American Atheists for about 20 years. This interview is creepy. I gave him the benefit of the doubt but after seeing this I am glad they fired him. Atheists are under enough scrutiny, this kind of behavior, as a representative of AA, is unacceptable. This is not welcoming behavior; it is embarrassing. Disgusting.
