Do you have more links that can be verified you can share regarding Pieter Friedrich? I'm only seeing articles from India that mention any of this. Any media covering him from outside India you can provide? Can't find any copy of the article he is reported as having written, either. If you can provide more solid evidence, I will evaluate it.

There's huge room to call out hindutva, problem is most prominent activists are themselves extremely bigoted. Unfair Criticism of hindu nationalism is greatest PR hindutva has ever had.. let's take example of person yt handle u linked up in here..lot of liberals admire Mr Freidrich Pieter , i think CEO of Atheist Republic even had little shoutout for him.. this dude use to write extremely homophobic blogs until he was shown different path to spread word by Mr Bhajan Singh Bhinder (a khalistani agent who was booked for smuggling guns, grandes, rocket launchers to Pakistan)..some gems by this duo includes blaming hindutva for attack on gurudwara in Taliban administered afganistan and White washing Taliban crimes (despite Taliban claiming responsibility)

Not too unexpected. Similar "melee" clashes have occurred for the last decade or so on-and-off-again. Guns are rarely involved in order to avoid further escalation on either side.
