Short term sanctions might be good thing..will push India towards self reliance & sanction proofing of Indian economy..it will also reset India US relationship cutting all democracy & shared values BS.. other not so great consequences will be modi gaining electoral popularity & people will turn him into another Indira Gandhi, probably even greater figure

it's not like USCIRF conclusion come through deeply academic research & rigorous bipartisan debates . just like other phony organization like say "Democratic index" by Sweden, there is no real criteria other than "perceived opinions" from elected autocratic experts in these autocractic institutes use it as leverage against countries they dislike

More than India,I feel more funny about inclusion of Russia. Interesting that USCIRF requested to sanction on already sanctioned Russia for supression religion of Ukranians,but no word on persecution of Ukraine legitimized azovs who Crucifix Romani .. kill count of neo nazis has been 12000-17000 in last 5yrs & has caused many more migrations(probably more than Pakistan)
