The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 21/August/2020

Got TONS done this week!
Finished F's split scene and got onto A's. A's has been a bit more of a difficult one, which I suppose shouldn't come as a surprise considering ;D
These split scenes are where you can choose who you want to go with, so I need to put in variations for romance, BFF, or just colleagues, just in case. Adam/Ava is not particularly forthcoming for the friend stuff! I want there to be an obvious progression for the friendship, but A is wound up so tight I need to walk a fine line to not make them out of character.
But I have just finished one of the bigger choices in the second choice set of that split scene and I love it :D A real nice moment for them to share that feels easy and exactly the balance I was hoping for!
The beta testing has also been happening for the first demo of Book Three this week. The comments and reactions have completely fuelled me for getting it ready to show you guys!! :D Beyond happy with what's been coming back.
I will start putting in their edits next week after a couple of people have finished over the weekend. (As an interesting note, about 70% of the beta testers went for the Felix/Farah romance for their first runthrough...F is definitely making their way up the popularity ranks!)
For Creek Edge, well blimey...I was on it! Finished colouring all the layers of the face, I coded in the 5 different bases, the skin tones for each of those bases, the 13 hairs (with 6 colours each), the outfit, and I started going through and saving the hundreds of images into the right folders to make it all work!
The character customisation is actually looking and acting like a character customisation screen!! I was so excited and proud that ended up sending vids of it to friends. Sorry, guys hehe :D
I do still have to actually make up all the expressions and save them under the different eye colours, but the way I've managed to do it leaves plenty of room for extra fun unique customisation for the individual races like I'd hoped!
Another massive step forward on that finally. When I can get past the hurdle of the MC customisation (which will be worth it in the end!), things will move along much smoother.
So yeah, a busy week that I am feeling a bit flagging at the end of but completely buzzing at the same time!

For Update+ this week, I thought I'd share something I'm really enjoying now we're in the later books.
It's fun now adding friend points in where it might be unexpected, but the vampires are starting to respect the MC more, so a bit more willing to see their point of view.
For example:
#Bristle with anger. "They're doing their best in circumstances they're not used to."
*set adamf +1
The above choice would never have netted the player a friend point in Book One, but A is starting to learn about the MC more. So when the MC defends their colleagues, A can get behind that even if it's butting heads with them (again, hehe!).

I’m curious how long it took N to become best friends with A. Was it also a struggle for them??? Was A less uptight 300 years ago?? Did they need 100 years of trust exercises?
