The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 18/Sept/2020

I finished my edits and playthroughs for chapter 3, which did take longer than expected. I forget just how many variables are going into these chapters now and I want to try and test for them all, so the testing/editing stage after each chapter will start to take longer.
To give you an idea, this is what a couple of pages from my checklist looks like:
I actually had 6 of these pages, lol.
Some of these are only small variations, but I think it really is adding so much depth to the scenes now and hopefully making your MC act more like your MC should, even outside of choice sets.
Chapter 3 is now with the amazing @spunkycatninja, who already sent me back her initial thoughts on the chapter, and I am SO encouraged by the excited responses she had!
After chapter 3, the word count is totalling: 133,419. A larger total than I was anticipating...
And then I started on chapter 4, which I've got further along on than I expected I'd manage this week.
I've just done the LT route starter (I've finished all the other romance openers) and...oof, guys, it stings, especially on one choice...
For Curse of Creek Edge I finally finished the last needed background for the demo.

For Update+ this week, I thought I'd share the pain of the LT route with this snippet:
My gut tightens with guilt, the sensation so intense that I can't even look to ${adam} as we head out of the room.

There are other versions of this scene (some just as painful, and one that's actually...not too tugging on the heart strings).

Oh no as much as I enjoy the Love triangle route due to the fact that Ava shows the detective more emotion than her single route I can't read Ava getting hurt nor coming in-between a friendship that Ava and Nat have but saying that It won't stop me reading it once book three is complete.

The LT is my favourite. But reading that....i am both intrigued and ready to be hurt, and terrified with the need to curl up into a pained ball.

I’ve played both books an unholy amount of times and I still can’t bring myself to play the love triangle 😩 Adam and Nate were the first two characters I fell in love with and I don’t think my heart can handle watching them both be sad :(
