The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 04/June/2021
🕑 Added 2021-06-04 13:41:59 +0000 UTCSo as many of you know I took a break from the internet for a while, but in that time I was writing like crazy! Like, I was getting scenes finished before I'd even had breakfast!
Chapter 7 really does still need to be edited, as there's quite a bit I want to add to it, but I'm definitely in more of a major writing mode right now, so I'm going with the flow for Chapter 8.
Chapter 8 actually has 2 completely different versions of it—Chapter 8: Research and Chapter 8: Combat. Or maybe we should just call them by their proper names- Chapter 8: Research (romantic, fluffy scenes with a dash of steamy) and Chapter 8: Combat (steamy, intense scenes with a dash of fluff), hehe ;D
So the same as it was in Book Two, the chapter version you get will depend if you choose to concentrate on Supernatural Research or Supernatural Combat for this book.
The opening to chapter 8 is a 'common' opening, where the chapter opens the same before splitting into the two different versions, except that opening will vary completely depending on which branch you've taken with Verda, Tina, or both (because I have variation-addiction, lol), so it won't be the same if you choose differently on those branches.
I got the Love Triangle route start finished as well! And things are starting to get really antsy in the love triangle now, so that was intense to write! (If you have F as your BFF during the love triangle, I really like the scene you get at the end of that opening!)
And then I was getting on with the start of the research scenes only to realise...I haven't planned Adam/Ava's, lol! For some reason I have everyone else's planned out for research and combat, but forgot about A's research scene. Luckily I have a very good idea of what I want to happen, so I will quickly plan that out by hand and then type it up ready to actually be written into the game.
Some of the romances really step it up a notch at this moment, and I seriously love getting to write the two variations! I hope it adds some fun when you want to replay even with the same love interest!
So it's been a productive time away, but I'm back now and will be slowly getting back to things on social media!
I also just want to give a HUGE thank you for all the heartfelt and warm messages and comments you guys left! I want you to know they really made a difference, thank you <3

For Update+ this week, I'd thought I'd share a little of that Love Triangle angst...

$!{a_she} dares a quick glance at me before turning and marching towards the door. "I will meet you here in the morning, Detective." $!{a_she} then disappears through the doorway.
I shift my focus to ${nate} as ${n_she} pushes ${n_him}self up from the chair.
"I'll talk to you later," ${n_she} mumbles, not meeting my eye, before following the same exit as ${adam}.
The door slams shut behind ${n_him}, making me wince.

No matter how much I love Nate and Adam, LT is still my favourite route - it makes me giggle like a little girl and blush like a nun on the nudist beach. The sweet, sweet taste of angst along with pure romance and love is intoxicating (I think I need some help at this point, heh 😳). Yesterday I finally got to the last version of demo for book 3 and it gave me just so many posititve emotions. Sera, thank you so much for bringing this enjoyment to my life with these small things - I really need it now at my half-depressed state that has been eating at me since January.

I love the angst from the LT, but I am still too scared to actually play it. I feel like I would always lean towards Adam, with Nate as BFF, but to see both of them struggle in the LT? I think my heart would die. Good luck to you brave souls committing to the route. Looks like things are heating up in the drama department!

I managed to get through the LT route for books one and two but...I tried it in the book three demo and I just... my heart just couldn't take it!! I salute those who can do it but my poor heart just can't handle hurting either one of them! D:

I'm glad you feel better now! ♡ And that love triangle scene looks intense...I don't do LT route because I tried it once and kept choosing A over N [because my heart just cannot leave A Dx] and I felt SO BAD every time N would give those sad smiles aaagh! I couldn't stand it :( So I salute you, brave people that do the angsty LT, and good luck! Hehe
