A smile catches him as he shrugs it off.

He snorts, shaking his head as he avoids your gaze. “Distant would at least mean some kind of connection.” He shakes his head, jaw tight as his teeth are gritted, silver eyes flaring like moonlight. “There’s nothing between us.”
