omg this happened to me with my digital art once - thought it was all lost forever which it thankfully wasn't but now I take no chances and back it up compulsively. 🙃

I once lost my USB key with all my website's coding on it, I've never felt my heart beat so hard. Then I found it back in a hoodie's pocket months later. I feel ya. Dreadful feeling.

I lost about 8 months of writing when I updated an iPad update. It locked my iPad and I couldn’t get back in. I backed it up first but the app I was using at the time only backed up locally and didn’t save it online….

I was working on a simple spreadsheet just now and the WiFi was being tricky - had to redo several boxes as the connection went in and out and it drove me crazy. Can't even imagine how I'd react losing actual written work I care about. Thank you, Google Docs, for your frequent auto saving feature.

Thank goodness for backup routines! At work, I backup my notes in a separate document b/c the program we use will sometimes eat our work.

for me it was that dreaded control+x, and then accidentally copying something.... my heart almost stopped but i managed to quit the IDE before it autosaved 😭
