I think the real mr Grylls would have something to say..

tom davies

Totally agree mate.

tom davies

Haha that sounds fucking class. Can't wait to tackle a mad hill on my bike again.

He is the one true Bear. PRAISE HIM.

Though I've never done a journey quite like this one, when traveling around Europe, I find as much, if not more, entertaining things *outside* of the cities and towns than inside them. The stuff in the towns you've mostly already seen pictures on travel sites, guides, etc. But the real *journey* is in the small little places that are not in the guidebooks and often don't even have names! The towns and cities are great, but the *stories* come from the unique experiences you have, not from postcard-like photos that everyone has seen. Please keep sharing these!

I crossed the Spluga pass on my bike two years ago and I remember flying down the stretch of road visible at 7:18 at speeds I thought of as impossible on a bike before that time.

Guys: I am re-uploading this in the hopes that it changes to 1080p this time. It will be back online at about 10am BST

tom davies

Yeah man! I'd say this was roughly the 16th of august 2016! (give or take 5 days)

tom davies

haha I actually went back for that one! I probably did lose it later on in this trip though. I sure as hell don't have it now.

tom davies

Thanks Kristin! comments like this make me feel all warm inside :)

tom davies

I'll give you that one mr smith!

tom davies

I mean the Triumph couldn't have been faster. It was the first car that came past whilst I was on that road and it stopped! The other two were insanely quick too.. I'm going to make a compilation of my top 5 fastest hitchhikes ever soon!

tom davies

I did mate, although because I wasn't as serious and confident about making a youtube series out of it, and was hungover a lot, there are some flat sections with inconsistent levels of entertainment. But I should be able to get 2 or 3 more stories like this out of it all!

tom davies

Mate I was so tempted. Took all my will power to not go in and order a Pizza. No way man, what trip were you doing at the time?

tom davies

Cheers Elliot!

tom davies

I'm glad you think so Kelsey :)

Sam Wiström

Spluga pass I take it? Depending when in the summer this was I might have missed you by a day when driving through it.

Let's all have a moment of silence for the brave hats that have surrendered their lives in the line of duty for the sake of entertainment.

Kristin Walter

This stuff is so amazing to watch, loved every second of it! 🙏🏼

You dropping your hat seems to be a regular occurrence

jabbawabs

All of those hitchhikes are probably records for shortest wait times, yeah?

This is bril mate! Did you record this entire trip from start to finish? Excited for more from this series.

You missed a banging restaurant on the Italian side of the Splugen pass. If you ever go back, it's €5 for an incredible pizza at the place right on the edge of the lake. I also had to sit and wait for a bus for 4 hours in Andeer, which was probably the most boring experience of my life to date.

Elliot Smith

Brilliant stuff

That cliff: this hike actually had the potential to be another 127 hours

Hahaha flip me: "You know you're getting hungry when you're considering dropping a boulder on a cow's head--just to eat it's raw flesh."

tom davies

Not sure this has fully processed - only loading in 720p at the moment. Maybe give it an hour :|

tom davies

Mate I couldn't catch a word.. That must be some seriously strong Swiss dialect..

I'm German and I don't even understand what the drunk German guy is saying

Kelsey Elizabeth
