My training for "Dribbling Britain" in the Welsh mountains ended in hilarious fashion

Two weeks ago I decided to get some good hiking training in just before my mate Andy's stag do. The stag cottage/barn was in remotest Mid Wales, not too far from my first straight line attempt. Why not take advantage of the big hills and great weather and get some much needed miles in my legs? I rightly concluded. So, I parked up at the cottage a day early and set off along the Glyndwr way back towards Welshpool, where old friend, meticulous planner and groom-to-be Andy would pick me up the next day.
The hike itself was fantastic and not without it's fair share of amusing twists, however if you'd have stopped me two miles into my hike, on the faint, steep grassy track that meandered it's way through a remote cow field, and told me that in 24 hours time we'd be inching our way down it in the opposite direction, in Andy's little white Peugeot 206, I simply wouldn't have believed you.

I was attacked by a badger once while taking a shortcut through a trading estate in Dudley. So it's not the welsh ones you need to watch out for, it's the ones back in the black country that mean business.

haha to be honest for the most part i'm just grateful to be on a path. Especially when I haven't long done a mission. Like any form of pain it gives you a new found appreciation for things that you once took for granted. Occasionally though I do find myself unable to resist a good short cut, much to Verity's dismay!

Great vid, Tom! I've been wondering if you ever find yourself walking somewhere (in town, hiking, or wherever) and you instinctively try to figure out how to go in a straight line instead of following a path. Like, you see a fence or hedge and you feel _compelled_ to go through/over it instead of walking around?
