Foraging with Ben #3 - Fish Traps
🕑 Added 2020-07-20 17:03:57 +0000 UTCThe third of a handful of miniature foraging and hunting expeditions with my brother Ben, who has recently been learning how to forage.
This week we move away from foraging and try and catch us some meat. Something that we will surely need on our survival trip in late August. We weren't sure what sort of fishes even existed in this brook, and our fish traps were questionable at best, so our hopes weren't high. But were we wrong to doubt ourselves?

I love these too! We do a lot of hiking around my house (100's of trails here) and I found that by doing a reverse image search on various plants, flowers, and trees, I can find out exactly what grows around here. Then look it up on Wikipedia and YOU can be the knowledgeable friend!

Just googled it and you're right it's a European Bullhead. No nor me, I bet they're really earthy.

We use to call those fish Bullheads or Bullyheads back in the 80s not sure if that was something the local kids just made up though. I wouldn't fancy eating one tbh
