Blindfolded and Stranded! Can I find my way home using no map, compass or main roads?
🕑 Added 2025-01-18 20:02:28 +0000 UTCGood evening Patreons! here's a treat for you this fine Saturday eve. Part 1/2
Subtitles available
I'm known mostly for two things: My ability to hop hedges and my ability to figure out (virtually) exactly where I am. But what would happen if we combined these two talents? How would I fare if I were blindfolded and dumped 20 miles (as the crow flies) from home with no means of navigation and the inability to use main roads?
Can I use the sun to help me navigate? Will I recognize any distant landmarks on the horizon? Will I make it home before dark or wind up further away than where I started? In this two part video we answer all of these burning questions and in doing so get stuck up a tree, get nutmegged by a wood pigeon, help a farmer search for a lost cow and generally have ourselves a truly top tier adventure.

This was basically an 8 miles wide straight-line mission.

i was taking the train up to manchester from london the other day and whilst looking out the window at the farms near stafford i wondered what the odds were of seeing Tom wandering around somewhere, then this video came out

Jack Pollard
Great video as always. How you do it I don’t know but I am hugely shocked by it every time

Brilliant video, loved it. The side quests were also great, although I am disappointed you didn't find the lost cow. Maybe you should have a rule that the mission is only partially complete if a clear and obvious side quest isnt complete 🤣

Back in the room. GO TOM!

Was halfway done and it went private.

Absolutely wonderful content Tom! Does make me wonder: will you ever do a retry of your Geoguessr IRL video, because you did not actually get a perfect score back then

Great video 🤩 I feel sorry for you Brittish guys that don't have the "Allemannsretten". The "allemannsretten" in Norway is the right of public access, allowing everyone to roam, camp, and enjoy nature responsibly on uncultivated land.

Two videos in short succession. Feels like Christmas again! Can't wait for part 2. What a fun adventure.

Hi Tom, great concept, great video! Can’t wait to see part 2. This may be a baffling comment but just wanted to note it’s lovely to see a version of the counties map that I made in 2004 for Wikipedia show up in one of your videos! I had no idea 21 years ago that when I arbitrarily picked out that one shade of pink I’d be seeing it in one of my favourite YouTubers’s videos! It’s a silly coincidence I know, but…

Great concept for a close to home adventure, might have to try it in my neck of the woods! Can't wait for part 2!

There's like 15 ways of describing what you mean in less words. My try: Using natural features how straight would the line be?

Tom! I had an idea pop in my head while I was hiking and I just needed to make sure you heard it. Okay here it goes: Basically you do a a straight line mission. You know your start point and end point. The catch is that you do not have a straight line to reference whilst on the journey. You have to attempt the straightest line possible using only your navigational skill. It is only when you have finished that you will then able to view the results and see how well you've done. (or something similar) Idk just thought I'd share :)

Thanks Tom

Cooool, similar to my idea I posted in the "tenner in my pocket" part 2 post. Can't wait to watch 👍
