Thank you! I use some type of textured pencil brush on both Clip Studio Paint and Procreate, brush specifics may vary from time to time but I prefer ones that emulate a real pencill and are quite pressure sensitive. This specific drawing I made on Procreate, and I added a noise layer over the pencils for added texture.

Oh Enji can 100% embody that energy, it's baked into his very core haha! And yes! That's exactly the book I read, and the 2017 edit specifically since it had more art added to it as well as updates of how far the legacy has come since the 90s. I couldn't agree more on how it changed my view on a lot of topics, I mean I knew the general bits and pieces of his story already but reading the narrative and his own words, seeing the progression of his style and just the joy of it all - it really spoke to me! Extremely inspirational and uplifting. I'm so happy to have provided a breather in the midst of work, thank you so much! 💕🙏

Incredibly so! The book I read was by F. Valentine Hoover, "Tom of Finland - Life and Works of a Gay Hero" (The 2017 edition that had more added to it). The thing that really got me was just a sense of pure joy achieved from creating something you love.

The details you put into your pieces are clearly done out of love and are one of the many things I love about your work. This Enji is amazing, I also really love Tom of Finland’s art and you definitely did this piece some justice. 👀👀 (Honestly it looks like a photoshoot Hawks convinced Jeanist to convince Enji to do and I can just picture them both behind the cameraman just 😳😳 the whole time hahaha and obviously those photos are private property of Hawks and Jeanist only) I’m also super glad you found something to invigorate and inspire you!!

omg? i’ve always thougth Enji’s general character design seems inspired on the Tom of Finland figures. i discovered the biographic book written by F.
