Honestly when I started the Audio book version I was like "letters? why is this person writing letters? what i thought this was about a mad scientist??" I'm not far into it but Victor has been introduced and I'm suspecting the way the story is going. LMAO "enhanced" can you imagine him going to different corpses just checking their junk and being all "no no that one won't do, proportionately he must have a bigger dick" haha xD I think the first artwork is fine, or maybe ive seen too much gore, but it doesn't feel too campy or realistic so it doesn't feel so macabre and confronting I guess. I admit that because of your art I do find myself telling myself "wait wait, that body part how would it look being pressed against X object" or lately I sometimes attempt to get into the pose myself, a lot of the poses i draw are very uncomfortable to do by yourself with no partners weight is what I've discovered xD so i'm glad that that part of your art has rubbed off onto me and got me thinking more. haha my word vomitting being a good thing makes me happy! Always fun to find out from artists what is muscle memory, what requires thought and so on. Makes the experience of looking at the art even more fun :)

Thank you so much Ellie 😭💕 And it’s kinda bizarre getting through the original story with only prior knowledge being halloween-y and campy popculture references of the monster. Hawks for sure might have enhanced some critical body parts in the process 😂 But I’m glad you liked the first pic, and I think you really put to words how I feel about it too! I spent a good while wondering if I should even include it, if the severed arm and the fact that monster Enji is still dead is too macabre to what at the end of the day should be a smutty series of images… But that image of Hawks, crouched over his young life’s work with all his dedication and focus, it just didn’t leave me alone until I drew it. The weight comment is something that always makes me happy, but also wonder what creates that illusion! Something I’ve been noticing lately, however, is that I think about how bodily things feel a lot when drawing poses. Like, how if a pose calls for the body stretching, or knees bending, or whatever, my mind goes to ”what does it feel like to be in that position”? But idk if that contributes to it, just something I noticed. And yeeessss the process!!! Sometimes I’m fortunate enough to get things straight ouf of my head onto paper, but other times the struggle is real. But also necessary! I remember someone in some art school class saying that the first draft is rarely the best one, and it left me in the headspace to this day that reworking something until it works is always about going forward, since it just means the idea and the visuals get to marinate and find the form they’re supposed to be in. So I just think of it as positive if I’m able to catch that ”hey, this pic could and should be better” and rework it in time. Don’t apologize for putting the effort to write down thoughts like these! Not only do I enjoy the hell out of reading it, it makes me think, too!🙏🧡

Honestly you got me out here listening to the audio book of Frankenstein (i've never read it) because I got curious about what the original story is, i've only ever seen movie adaptations and now I find myself curious about what was the source material like. Also can I just yell for a moment how GREAT the idea of Enji being the monster it is just too good! Also I love that you made sure the stitching was under Enji's ass, which makes me feel like that was all part of the original body kind of feeling, you know, the ass is all real and all his original hahaha. I find it interesting the choices you made for this, and I find I seem to resonate a lot with the first art piece. The working diligently, quietly and focused on connecting everything, making it human, making it his version of perfect. It feels almost like an allegory for how it can feel to create art sometimes. I find myself still even to this day enamoured by the way you convey weight within body parts, or just as a whole, it definitely makes me intimidated sometimes, wanting to learn how to convey that and yet feeling it somehow out of my reach or perhaps out of my skill range. Always love seeing your process, makes me feel less upset for the times I find myself redrawing a page (like recently i redrew a comic page 4 times until I was satisfied with it), makes it feel like "if a great artist such as Pete finds themselves completely redrawing something in the hopes to make for a better outcome, then maybe I can learn to do the same". I AM RAMBLING I'M SORRY I DONT GET TO TALK ART WITH PEOPLE SO I JUST END UP WRITING ESSAYS WHEN SOMETHING MOVES ME akfbjksbgskg (i am also a sucker for horror, halloween, monsters..yeah haha)
