I know it is an old post but wanted to check if its final solution was ever posted? Sudoku part was easy for me but I am not good at cryptic puzzles so got stuck there.

What a lovely puzzle - one bifurcation/guess needed by me to solve it, combined with the geometry of the last three columns. The cryptic part was also fun.
