The logic is off. Bummer.

Same here. This was definitely _not_ "fun" for me. At some point I started bifurcating (and still am not convinced there is a humanly accessible logical solution path), but probably made some mistake and got something wrong, but I couldn't be bothered to start again, because it was not really fun.

Same here with the “might work” options. Totally agree with your advice.

I'd love to see Simon attempt a solve; he is less likely to gloss over the logical leaps required at the beginning. I'm still not sure that Mark didn't make use of Setter's Magic at the beginning hard stage of the solve.

The Silver Chords

While I appreciate wanting the puzzle to have no givens, and we find the givens through logic; I think if you have us the 6 in the Grey area instead of making us find it, it may add to the " fun" of the solve.

Very interesting “making of” video, thanks for sharing that. However it seems to me the test solve found the position of the special 6, by assuming a total required which was only true… if that was the special 6. (If not only adding to 39 could be compensated for elsewhere.) So ultimately I think making it a Patreon bonus with a warning it was hard, was the best idea. (Personally I found proving where the special 6 had to be a huge grind, and even after hours was still left with half a dozen “might work” options. Whereas once I knew where the 6s went for sure, and the top of box 3, the rest came together fairly well.) To be honest it might have been better to make that special 6 a given, which would be a 9 with a 6 below/in it, and avoided the grind of trying to prove where “just one” special 6 went. Ewen
