Hey everyone! Time for another week, huh?
If you hadn't heard, I'm having dental problems ((AGAIN, UGH)) and it's extra scary to get them fixed during the time of COVID, so, wish me luck.
I've posted about my commissions on most social media sites since I am probably going to need to buy some crowns, which are a ton of money and not covered by my insurance at all, so any shares on those posts are much appreciated. I never like to ask all of you here for stuff like that since you're already doing so much to help me, but this situation is a bit... dire. (I'm not in pain, but the damage to one of my teeth is... obvious, to say the least.)
Anyways, I also have to get a CT scan this week so we will see if my kidney stuff was just the one time thing or if I've got something secret going on. IT'S BEEN... A ROUGH LAST FEW MONTHS, so thank you all again for your support and kind words and for helping me to be able to work on comics which always helps me calm down and feel stable.
I will see you all again tomorrow for another update, and for the new Cavemate page!

oh oops I forgot to reply to this!!! yeah i agree that any job where customers can just fucking like, abuse people, are underpaid by WAY TOO MUCH jesus christ!! GOOD LUCK

Haha that’s one way to put it! We get a lb of coffee a week, free drinks and one free food item per shift, a hefty discount, and currently one free drink/food item per day, whether working or not, due to the virus and various hours cuts/shut downs. But when you take into acct how physically demanding the job is, and how “the customer is always right” their thinking is (mere words cannot express how much I DETEST that phrase and what it implies), they really underpay their employees by quite a bit. And promotions tend to happen according to managerial opinion rather than work/skill history, too, so it’s all subjective. 🤷🏻♀️ but even so, it’s the second best place I’ve ever worked, the first being 2 semesters as a student advisor at a local college. And it’s still 10X better than working for Walmart, which I did for 5 yrs.

OOF, yeah, I've heard Starbucks is a weirdly mixed bag to work for!!!

I pay a good amount of money per month for my dental/vision/health ins, plus things like Aflac, and injury. I work for Starbucks, and they have some of THE BEST benefits I’ve ever encountered, and I’ve worked a lot of jobs. I don’t think they pay as much as they could, or should, but I believe it’s because of the level of benefits they provide. But yes, the healthcare system as a whole is ridiculously awful for a first world country.

Yeah, it's a mess. Health care in the USA is just... a disaster. I am lucky that I am a small business and can even get medicaid and do regular appointments, but anything more serious than that is like "good luck, fucker"

I understand that. It shouldn’t be legal for them to charge more for a payment plan, like, you’re getting your money, and you have plenty of people who can pay you upfront, so why you gotta be a dick about it?

OMG!!! THAT IS SO SCARY LGKDFHG that makes me feel lucky tho! My problem is that I have two permanent baby teeth (there are no adult teeth underneath) but baby teeth are wider than adult teeth, so they slowly crowd and crack the other teeth. What happened to me this time? A BIG CHUNK OF ONE OF THE BABY TEETH JUST FELL OFF!!! So I will either need to get them both replaced, or at least have crowns put on both. SIGH!!! Glad your teeth are in good shape tho! Take care of them with brushing and flossing!!! ;o;

Damns. My mom had all of hers out by 45, with full dentures due to the constant mercury injections in the 60s-70s they used for kidney problems. Talk about horrifying history, right? 🤭 Mine are in good shape, I just have cavities and staining, because coffee is life.

Yeah, I wasn't able to go for a few years when I was away at college and that REALLY fucked me over, but also, all of my teeth are slowly cracking each other because they are too close together and just, genetically brittle, so THAT'S FUN???

Oh, good luck! I’ve been getting emails from my dental ins provider. I haven’t been in 23 yrs, since I had my wisdom teeth out. 😬 I’m terrified to go because of money.
