I know that it's a pretty common fan-fiction thing to turn Kirk & Spock into a couple. It wasn't until I was writing the dialog on this page that I really started to understand why that happens.

LOL. As for the going insane part, I believe that goes back to the late 19th Century when a doctor was studying people in an insane asylum and noticed that the men tended to masturbate regularly. Supposedly, this led him to believe that masturbation leads to insanity. True? I can't say; it's just something I read/saw somewhere.
