A morning at William's place (Short story-canon)

White light of early morning made the peaceful dust particles seem to glow, all swirling and swaying calmly to the whirr of the lazy ceiling fan above. Two bodies rested intertwined, two bodies with warm skin slid against one another. The sheets were thick and full, layers of fluff and stuffing allowing the bed to look heavenly to lay upon. layered with textures, pampered with an abundance of pillows. To be within the mounded nest of comfort was to be encased in peace, the warmth trapped under the layers.
William had the delight of awakening first, his legs slowly beginning to slide against a pair of far heftier ones. Smooth warm skin slithered against one another, Williams' body coming alive as he took an unrushed inhale. The bedroom air filled his lungs, rewarding him with the breath of a peaceful morning. The beast beside him began to stir in response, the sheets rustling just slightly and the bed dipping.
Gene and William had such wonderful mornings together. There was a lack of rush or urgency for the two men. They just laid together, breathed together. Gene’s favorite part was the silence. The enjoyment of a muted awakening, both stirring before simply laying beside each other. Breathing slowly, indulging in one another’s scents.
The hefty red head took a deep inhale through his nose, feeling his lungs happily stretch as William’s familiar scent welcomed itself in. Cigarettes and humble cologne.
Familiar smooth fingertips snaked up Gene’s chest, the finger pads swirling to enjoy Gene’s soft chest hair before continuing to make its way up to the side of his face. The warmth of William was an immediate comfort to Gene, making a subtle smile begin to tug at his tired lips.
“Good morning dear.” That wonderfully wispy tone cooed.
“Mm.” Gene grunted back, his voice far groggier and gruffy.
He felt the soft ticklish fingers slide through his hair, pushing the locks away from his face. William was looking at him, he could feel it.
“What a handsome smile, my love.” William muttered in that soft voice, before a pair of arms slowly wrapped around Gene’s head.
William encouraged Gene towards himself, pulling Gene to rest his head against his chest so he could hold the larger man. Gene only responded with a low groan of aching muscles, both men carrying a soreness with them. The night prior had been one of slow, drawn out love making. Hands intertwined as their bodies moved in harmony, sighing and groaning against each other.
“I know dear.” William whispered as he began to scratch Gene’s head, both men soon melting back into the mattress.
Gene could lay there for all of eternity. Listening to William's beating heart through the blood, bones, and muscle. Hearing the filling of his lungs and getting to smell the ash of cigarette on his skin. He allowed himself to nuzzle his nose against William's skin, the slight extra squish of his chest providing an extreme comfort.
Slowly, he snaked his thick arms around William's far frailer frame, holding his thin waist.
“That's my good boy.” William muttered.
Gene sighed sleepily in response, finding the words to be incredibly rewarding.
But alas, Gene was a man of breakfast. As he rose, a siren-like hand reached up to him, calling for him to lay again and rest in the trap that was William’s bed. To fall into a deep spell like many before him had, never wanting to leave the bottle blonde’s care.
Gene managed to rip himself away, allowing William the time to rise on his own. Both men were dangerously heavy sleepers, thus could waste a day snoozing with one another if not for Gene’s stubbornness to craft breakfast.
Gene slipped on his plaid boxers and his wife beater before he stepped out into the cold hallway, thankful that William’s home was carpeted rather than tiled. How awful it would be to be walking on icy wooden flooring. As he walked, a brush of fuzz teased his leg, followed by a slightly demanding ‘mow!’
Gene reached a hand up, rubbing the side of his face as two padded paws gently pressed against the side of his leg, a sleek black cat wishing desperately for attention. Despite her kindness towards him, Gene was fully aware that Cynthia- William’s cat- was just as affectionate to any soul who wandered into William's house. He knelt, his knee popping, and reached with his large thick hand to allow Cynthia to press the side of her face against it. She glided her soft body against his palm, raising her back into it as though telling him where to pet.
Yet, all she received was that small greeting as Gene rose.
“Mow!” She immediately protested, trotting behind the large man as he continued towards the kitchen.
Despite William’s occupation as a lawyer, he had an incredibly humble house for the money he made. The home was only one story, two bedrooms. It smelt strong of smoke from poor William never seeming to be without a cig in his lips, which he and Gene allowed one another to indulge in. Though it was a smaller home, the interior appeared to be a giant nest, or perhaps a massive trap for those with tired eyes looking for somewhere to collapse. The couch was riddled with blankets and pillows, a massive bean bag chair sitting just beside it. In every room of the home, there was somewhere to cat nap, or somewhere to make love.
Gene was followed by Cynthia all the way to the kitchen, the little lady hopping up onto the counter and continuing her meowing now in hopes for breakfast. Knowing where her food was kept, Gene was soon knelt over her food bowl cracking open a can of cat food, giving it a soft shake before it plopped down into her bowl. Eagerly, she scampered to it and began to chow down, relieving Gene of responsibility to her.
His much more difficult task was figuring out a successful meal for the angel snoozing just down the hall. William was a vegetarian, thus the collection of grocery items in his fridge was always startlingly different to Gene’s selection back at home. Gene was incredibly lucky that William was vegetarian rather than vegan, for he would be completely lost on what to make poor William.
Luckily though, as the fridge came open there was a carton of eggs sitting expectantly for Gene on the first shelf. An omelet would be just fine for the two of them. Surely, Gene would manage to find something to cut up and throw in there as well. Though as he went to close the fridge, the clinking of glass bottles knocking against one another caught his attention, his eyes drawn to the bottom shelf in the fridge door.
A full row of amber colored beer bottles rested beside one another, all looking up at Gene. Two full packs, all lined up side by side fully stocked. Just above them on the shelf higher, there resided the far less refined versions counterparts that were beer cans. Gene’s calm eyes gazed with a hint of curiosity.
Never had he known William to be a drinker. He would indeed sip at alcohol, but never had Gene seen him stock his own home with such an amount.
His thoughts were pulled away from him though as two slender hands slid up his thighs, up his hips, and finally to his waist. William had silently come to join him, pulling Gene in to place a tired kiss against his neck. William then laid his cheek against Gene’s shoulder, his breathing still deep and slow as he did his best to wake up.
The two began to calmly sway with one another, the fridge coming closed on its own as Gene abandoned it. The glass bottles within clattered.
“Big drinker, Bill?” Gene teased dryly, his voice raspy as it had yet to wake up. It made his chest rumble when he spoke.
“Mm… my dear, I find that it gives me desire but takes away my performance.” He responded, pressing another kiss against Gene’s neck before gliding away to light a cigarette and lay upon the couch. "and I simply need performance."
Gene chuckled at this, opening one of the cabinets to fetch a metal pan. So, William wasn’t a drinker.
“Alright.” He responded, clearing his throat shortly after. Gene wasn't one to pry, and William wasn't one to tell.

The inner circle (Rory, Gene, Ace, and Jobie) all live with one another and are more frequently together. They know more about one another, are more invested in the relationship, and behave as couples would. Anyone in the outer circle are often 'friends with benefits', with proper communication to the others of course. Though typically, they all share. William is a special case. William only visits on occasion, but he is incredibly romantic with each individual in his own way. So he is still technically a part of the outer circle, and sees himself as such. All of this is done through proper communication, consent, and peace + love! :)

what is the difference between the inner circle and the people outside of the relationship that they involve themselves with? in william and gene's case, it seems very romantic and loving, so i was just curious as to what sets him apart from the poly boys

Once again, I adore your story so much. Like every time you put a new story is astronomical phenomenal and exquisitely beautiful. Gene is such phenomenal character along side William as well. I can't wait to see more of William. 😫🤚

Their relationship is an open one! Though he is not in the inner circle, he will visit from time to time and share romantic moments with them :) He deeply enjoys their company (Though Gene is his favorite!)
