My boys would be NPCs that come to town on Sundays and Thursdays. They park by the bus stop where you can interact with them all. (Unless it's Thursday, then Gene will be in Pierre's shop)
You can gift them but unfortunately it takes a very long time to build friendships due to their visiting times and their loved gifts.
Plus, to marry them you must have full hearts with all! It's a very tedious task
Rory would be able to sell you "hemp seeds" and "tobacco seeds"
Hemp cannot be made into weed or blunts, but can be used as a high value gift and in healing recipes. When a hemp leaf is tailored with cloth, it turns into a shirt with a big weed leaf on it.
As for tobacco, they can be made into cigars which is a loved gift by Gene and sold for good money.
Friending Rory gets you hemp seed in the mail
Friending Jobie gets you randomized (often low value) items in the mail at a more frequent rate
Friending Ace gets you clothing in the mail
Friending Gene gets you cooked meals in the mail
