One reason a story's pacing might feel off to us readers is if chapters end based on word count, not because the scene reaches a natural conclusion. That wasn't the case. I, particularly, like the change of POVs, it lets us see the world from different angles and connect with the secondary characters. Six chapters to show the announcement might seem like a stretch, but I guess that's the trade-off for choose chapters under 1500 words. To have a clear beginning, middle, and end in each chapter, you kind of have to circle back to the introduction sometimes. Maybe in certain situations, forgetting the word count and focusing on a more impactful sequence of scenes would be better. The downside is that longer chapters mean a longer wait between updates. There's no such thing as a free lunch.

There will always be people who won't be satisfied anyway, whichever way you do it. And I'm not talking about those readers who give constructive criticism, like you, which is always welcome. So I can't help it if some people don't like it, since I have been pretty clear from the beginning that this is a slow paced story. Of course, I have noticed many things which need improvement, and I'll do my best to work on it, but I've realized that I can't make everyone happy. All I can do is to give my best to create an engaging and enjoyable story. And thank you. You have been a regular reader of FLTL, and I always look forward to your comments. They help me to see if I missed something in the plot, and occasionally, they let me know that I wrote a really good chapter! So, thank you for that!

I understand and I also didn't really mind myself. But I remember there were already several comments on royal road that the story was "too slow" and then readers there for some reason heavily dislike POV changes? So the combination might set some people off. I mean it's already written I and don't think changing this in case a few idiots dislike it is necessary anyway lol. Especially if it's going back to Krivamus now... I would personally have expected maybe also a Hudan or Duvas POV during the announcement so we get their direct unfiltered take and thoughts on the new measures while also their belief and opinion of both the Village future and Krivamus. But this was also very interesting, since the announcements were this important some kind of different POV was really inevitable here, I agree!

Perhaps this POV became longer than usual, but I felt it was necessary to show the villagers' perspective, particularly since they had never been treated well by the previous baron. The next chapter returns to Kivamus' perspective though.

Thanks for the chapter! While I do still enjoy this perspectice I feel like many will probably criticise you for going so long on a different POV and they'd be somewhat justified as not a whole lot has happened here we saw a couple of announcements and got some what of a perspective of the villagers on Krivamus new ideas, but it has been several chapters and the impressions are also kept pretty vague...
