To Harem, or Not to Harem - Follow up

So to keep everyone up to date on the results of the poll. Option 3 won by a landslide. I will say it again now like I did in the original post, just because it was the highest voted option, does not mean that it will be implemented.
That said it is something I have been putting a lot of thought into lately and I've had some ideas on how a harem might work in TSP. From a story telling perspective, the two problematic characters are Catherine and Malaena. And I've come up with some rough ideas for these two. To start with keeping their relationships a secret can be justified (and being honest how I should have wrote it to begin with), Malaena wouldn't want to seem unprofessional in front of the crew. Catherine, well there is a reason that has not yet been revealed which she would not want her and MC's relationship to be public knowledge.
An option I am exploring at the moment is the idea of "pairings", which then expand into something more down the line. Basically someone from the pairing would find out about the relationship that MC has with the other person in the pairing. And this leads to them forming a sort of trio.
Initial ideas is Kittenna x Lillith, Lillith being as astute as she is finds out about the affair Kittenna is having and sneaks aboard the shuttle. Shelly x Mia - These two I had originally planned to be a couple anyway, so there aren't any changes here really (and were one of the 3 some options I had planned), which (besides Shuma who is a special case) leaves Malaena and Catherine, the two problematic cases.
So my thought process here is that you can form a pairing with these two, but it will be HARD. Certain events have to line up perfectly in order for this to happen without one of them being heartbroken. Possibly making sure you have max respect from them as well as making the correct choices and maybe even having to do some side quest stuff in game.
Eventually Mia would cross over into the Kittenna x Lillith pairing and Shelly would cross over into the Malaena x Catherine pairing, and then it would all come together at the end of the game.
Again these are just some preliminary thoughts. I'm not saying this is going to happen either and if I don't feel like I can write this satisfyingly enough, then I will abandon it and stick with the original plan.
That said, I did have a follow up question from the poll.
IF option 3 was implemented, how would you play the game?
And just a reminder on what Option 3 was:
An ingame personality modifier event - This event can be optionally triggered and basically it means the MC modifies the personality of the crew to be ok with polygamous relationships (maybe even making them attracted to each other). Once this event is unlocked, there will be no lock on romancing all the characters and the game will end in possibly a big orgy. Though this might seem like the best option, keep in mind it's also the most work. And probably won't be implemented for a long while. This means for a while at least you'll still have to pick / play multiple saves.
Interested to see the results of this.

...I would probably play the game through blind on my very first try, and just see what happened, so I guess I'm not sure if I would trigger the event or not? That said, if you've managed to come up with a way to do it that you think wouldn't be against their character, that's what's most important to me.

Yeah I think Blueno has a point. The desire for harem content is unrelated to the story itself. It could even be unlockable upon beating the game perhaps which would both keep the original story you wanted as well as add a lot of replayability. From a technical view, I have no idea how difficult it would be to do this, or any other way of having both, but either way I agree that it could be some sort of side content that doesn't impact the plot and no one would be bothered by that.

so far I have been playing the game towards getting that harem route in the first go. Personally, I think you should go with how you envisioned the game's story to play out. The harem could just be a side mission thing, where a certain event kinda triggers it happening. The majority of people want to see it, but I also don't think they care how it impacts the main story. As long as it is there, the fans will be happy.

I will play through this game as many times as I have too, to get all the scenes. Anything that will subsequently add more scenes and content makes me very happy and even more eager to support this project.
