It's less about Kivamus winning his argument every time and more about the fact that he is their superior and the ruling Lord for the others, which makes them think that they have to follow his orders every time. After the previous baron punished everyone who voiced any opinions against him, including by beating them, the village people are always wary of saying too much, which is why Kivamus had to repeatedly tell them in his first few months there that they can give their honest opinions to him without fearing anything. It took a while but by now most of them can indeed do that, even if their opinion goes against that of Kivamus. But something which they have been told for all their life, including under the brutal rule of the previous baron for two decades, is a habit which will not go away that easily. So what you said is right, but it takes time for people to completely reverse their mindset, especially in this mediaeval world where free thinking and voicing your opinions to your superiors was not tolerated at all. Of course, we have barely met Kivamus' superiors in this world, and they are the people who would have no reason to agree to his opinions. But they will be introduced in due time as well.

I actually wish that Kivamos would loose am argument at least one. It is very bland and repetitive that he is always able to force his ideals on the world

Rodmin

I like that he sends hyola with them

Love the argument, and I loved the fact that it was clearly resolved. I’m hoping we get to see the female guards in the future take on more roles or at least kill a bandit or a bear or something. Itching to see if there is a fight in the near future Itching to see some bandits get surprised by the fast acting crossbow.

The cut off last chapter where the discussion regarding Pinoto was just beginning. Doesn’t seem right to literally end one chapter when a conversation is just beginning and then start the next chapter right at the beginning of that conversation. I get the idea behind it. It’s a transition to discuss the merchant. The thing is, it’s how it’s accomplished not that it’s accomplished. The break in conversation is awkward. The concept of hey let’s talk about something else. Makes perfect sense. I think there are lots of ways. The last chapter could’ve ended with any sort of clothes regarding watchtowers. Then we could’ve just started this chapter brand new fresh where they just dive into the topic of choice, but the split it does seem odd at the end of last chapter
