Hey Drett. Like you mentioned in the chat in Helga's Inn, this story is not a historical fiction, and is located in a different world with different customs and a different history, so it doesn't have to match entirely with what was common on medieval earth. For sure, a lot of the setting is inspired from medieval Earth, but I have built further upon it and added other things/ customs/cultures, instead of remaining completely accurate to Medieval Earth. I have already mentioned it in the past, but in this story, many things will be different from what was common in mediaeval Earth and so it wouldn't match the customs of that time. It is not an error, but done intentionally. Also, please don't consider what happens in Tiranat or in Southern Reslinor as the norms for the whole world. The customs could and would be entirely different in the neighbouring countries of Reslinor, or even in the other parts of the same kingdom (like it was mentioned in one of the earlier chapters that some of the nobles in northern Reslinor don't like to keep slaves, while those in the South certainly do). And Cilaria is a small part of the whole world, so the culture/customs of the rest of the world might be even more different from Southern Reslinor. I wouldn't give any spoilers but suffice it to say that the same stands true for things other than the culture. I hope this explains it.

Ok so I realize that this isn't exactly hsitorical fiction, but I feel a bit uncomfortable with how women are seen as 'never having fought in armies or retinues' female warriors were common all across medieval Europe, the Middle East, and Japan. They were much less common, but it's not like it's unheard of. Personally I think this whole part would work better if the reaction was more like "Only Bandits and Barbarians employ women in battle, no self-respecting noble would employ female warriors' Jyst my thoughts anyway

I hope Kivamus doesn't just view all of thier views as backwards and try to make their society just like the one he came from absent super advanced technology. Our societal customs and views have strengths, pitfalls, and flaws like theirs would, so I hope he'll find strengths from their customs and combine them with our strengths to make something better.
