If Kevin makes a printing press he would be able to corner the market and hoard tons of gold. And given how safe pf a product is to peddle books compared to other cash crops/products he would be able to build up his power base without interference, especially given that the Binpazi hosts will hit his political enemies rather than him.(Except Kirnos)

Kenneth Welever

You say that like the two nobles he's paying aren't corrupt.

Also if he timed it he could sell this info and kits to a lot of nobles. Very profitable, prevents a monopoly from jacking up the price, keeps the information out of foreign nation hands would make for some major changes in possible war setting. No one wants to make enemies with the nation that has the life saving medicine.

Frankly, I think when Kivamus puts together the money to pay off the taxes he should get the tax collecter to sign a contract saying the taxes were paided in full. This way if the the tax collector dies on the road the he can us that paper to help protect themselves so they don't have to pay that tax again.

And to pay for taxes on that sale at 25% they have to keep 135 gold peices

Scorte89

The taxes were $1,071 and they had a little under 700 according to the text. They should now have somewhere between 130-160 gold left

I will definitely like the next chapter! As for dropping the price of the acelos tablets to a price commoners can buy his best bet would be to make kits with instructions and all the tools needed to make them in one handy crate and sell those crates to nobles and the apothecaries that already grow their own losuvil plants. Tiranant would have to be well defended and their merchant would need to have power and influence to pull it off but if they did it the right way they could do it through the king and in such a way that the king officially licences and taxes those with the kits directly. That way they wouldn't step on any royal toes, the king looks benevolent and generous while also getting to restrict the recipe's spread and using the supply as both a strategic resource, a boon for his people, and an enviable trade good. By making kits with best practices written on it the keepers of the kits and recipes can be well guarded and the supplies rotated. Selling the oldest for immediate use while keeping a minimum supply where possible without over stripping the losuvil plants and causing a shortage.

That was satisfying. Nice to see the gold add up like that! Pydaso has been a godsend to this village.

Eriach

How much were the taxes and how short were they? If I remember right they'll have a net profit of just over 230 gold from all this
