Brickhouses would be really nice but I've read the other comment saying they probably can't. I imagine around the marketplace to have some buildings where in the ground level can be some shops, artisans, tavern and so on, while on the higher level(s) the families can live.

That makes an evil amount of sense. Weaken the guards and villagers before the raid

Kenneth Welever

That's a good idea. Good finish method too. I wonder how high the water table is too. Basements and partially submerged housing is far more temperature stable. They've also got rock from the coal mine though they'd have to shape that and ship it in. I'd assume switching to concrete bricks because it's difficult to make houses taller than three stories with wood and he's anticipating a much larger population and wants to think ahead. I honestly think he's just wool gathering. Thinkering thoughts

Why would Kevin gun for brick houses when they lack clay instead of using the massive stockpile of logs. Edit: Also they could plaster the oaken loghouses with mud to prevent fires

Farming isn't magicked into existence by whim, it takes time and effort. Keep in mind the previous shithead didn't want to farm and banned it, so there isn't any garden big enough to make a dent.

Bet that food shortage is rearing it's ugly head. Also that baron z is pressuring them to not travel with food. Maybe saying that food is too valuable to travel such a dangerous road. A way for them to attempt to starve the village out before the raid on it.

Plus they can make it into fancy molds and sell to nobles as a premium. Remember, nobles will spend a stupid amount of money on something that looks better. Even if it does nothing else.

My thought is when does he plan on making coal brickettes? Good money in standardized sized and packed coal like that. Also gives them a use for the loads of smaller bits of coal that is hard to pack into a wagon and just ends up as a mess at the work site.

Isaiah Weaver

When will they start making trips to sell coal again? the dam they made could be creating a much bigger lake how is that not being used a food source. I still never understood why there isn’t bigger vegetable gardens to help feed the entire town.
