:) Do read on!

Luca

The North is crazy let’s say the manage to kill one of them. The dragons’s wart will be on them. They would burn the all north to the ground.

Tertius711

I'm inclined to agree with you. The Wolf's Teeth are little threat to the dragons themselves. The riders OTOH... Aegon OTL never had to deal with magical threats bear in mind, this Aegon may not have accounted for them to the sheer degree of buildup and development Brandon has prepared. Stay tuned to see how it plays out!

I actually don’t see the Wolf’s Teeth being that much of a threat to the Targ’s dragons. I find it doubtful they could invade the minds of the Dragons themselves. Even with their numbers. But everything else he mentioned, sure. Though it seems unlikely-with how meticulously thought out Aegon was about his invasion- the idea of wargs and skinchangers joining wouldn’t’ve crossed his mind. Maybe not in the numbers they are coming with but surely some type of contingency (if that’s even possible- which I’m sure it is given the risk of starting the war and there not being one) would’ve been put in place. Especially with his heirs there, his assassin group (hunters?) should be combing the northern border about now. And maybe for some years now. Surely? I just really don’t want the twins to die. Any of them really.

Tertius711

Does it look like they're going to kneel right now though? Stay tuned to see how things play out with the Starks!

Mattetpunk101

Please I hope house Stark would kneel they will benefit and also please I hope Brandon will failed

Some of these details kind of exist in the Elder Council Appendix already, which is soon to get an update since new images for the army have been generated. The Elder Council appendix detailed where the various legions of the army are stationed in 120 AC while Chapter 8 detailed how most of the legions are stationed in Summerhall though with the conquest of the Westerlands I imagine at least one is in the CR-Lannisport area. It might get brought up in the next Aegon/Visenya/Rhaenys POV. I definitely don't think I'll be giving such detailed breakdowns for each Warden for levy and professional from their lands, whats the troop breakdown, ie horse, infantry, archer and which house how many belong to, etc. Ditto for enemies. I think probably too many details for me to keep track of. It's not much different than canon ASOIAF with the exception of the Royal/Imperial Army after all. That being said I may make an appendix compiling some of these details one of these days. You've deffo given me food for thought. Yeah Brandon is crashing out. Stay tuned to see how his storyline plays out!

Tertius711

Who's to say Valaena hasn't become arrogant just as he has though?

Tertius711

I can kinda see some of this happening, especially in a military context. Why would he become dismissive of his younger siblings though?

Tertius711

Huh. Can't figure it out. If you have time could you reread the chapter and lmk what grammar errors you find? Thx.

Amerdism

If possible, next time you do an Appendices, could you also write out a brief military overview of targaryen lands, by that I mean, where are the various legions of the standing army usually stationed, how many troops can each warden call up, both levy and professional from their lands, whats the troop breakdown, ie horse, infantry, archer and which house how many belong to, etc, I always love reading solid or semi-solid numbers on military formation or economics. It'd be nice to have some solid numbers for enemy forces too and where they are stationed both during war and peace but I leave that up to you whether you will do this or not. Christ, Brandon seems to be as bad as Viserys in GOT, he's so caught up in his own hatred and fear mongering that he doesn't sit down to ask the big questions. He's lashing out like a little kid and acting like he can take on the world, all the while failing to realise he's missed some pretty big problems. Such as, gee I don't know, what happens if the Targaryens decide to split up and conduct their own version of Guerilla warfare by sending lone dragon riders out to burn castles, towns, etc, 50 skinchangers can't be every where at once when there are dragons on opposite sides of the kingdom. Or if beating the dragonlords was as easy as skin changing into them or their dragon, why has no one done it before. All the Rhoynar water mages barely beat a handful of dragons and they likely had more than 50 mages and where likely better trained. Watching him get humbled will be fun. Ia also wouldn't be suprised if the king and queens hadn't made contingencies for skin changers just to be safe, seems like something they would do.

Great chapter my friend, it seems to me that Aerion might get arrogant and overconfident with what he has accomplished and can only hope that Valaena can keep his arrogance and overconfidence in check.

James Mackenzie

For the grammatical errors I can’t remember where it was exactly but it was near the start of this chapter and you got the tense of a word wrong, you put it in past tense when it should have been present tense.

James Mackenzie

My personal opinion for how to develop Aerion as a character is definitely a bit of arrogance but also make him more boastful and demanding, like he expects more of others because he has suddenly done some great thing and also make him a bit dismissive of his younger siblings

Tertius711

Interesting question. I'd say you have to stay tuned because the fate of the Weirwood trees and the North's First Men culture is definitely spoilers lel. I'm personally uninterested in writing a Stark fanfiction sorry. Thanks. Appreciate the praise! I put a lot of hard work and effort into making the stories detailed and planned out.

Tertius711

Nice. Glad you love the chapter! I've had the Wolf's Teeth idea cooking for quite some time so I'm glad you like them and the Brandon/Torrhen stuff. Definitely noting your criticism for Aerion. Main goal was to differentiate him from Jacaerys in High Tide but you definitely raise some great points. Aerion definitely does feel a little perfect atm but bear in mind being fine with killing lots of people doesn't necessarily make you a good ruler. It has been implied in previous chapters that Aerion isn't as effortlessly charismatic as Aegon and he's very much Visenya's son in how military-minded he is and how uncaring he is for the lives of his enemies lol. I'm also thinking of feeding into the power trip Aerion has right now due to three crushing victories at age 13. Bro's gonna be really cocky and overconfident and we shall see if that comes back to bite him! If you have any ideas on how to further develop Aerion's character, I'd love to hear them!

Tertius711

I definitely do want to know that stuff. Please show me where they are so I can correct them! Thx.

James Mackenzie

One last thing you made a few grammatical errors. Don’t know if you want to know that sort of stuff

James Mackenzie

Also I need to ask what are your plans for the norths Weirwood trees and the first men culture in general, I ask this because I love the north and their culture and history and I love that because I love gealic culture, history and mythology. Just putting it out their but could you think about doing a stark fanfiction where they are not so bloody week because damnit they have been kings for 8 thousand years and the north is still pathetic and it annoys me to all hell and you do some of the best fanfics I have ever read and you go into amazing detail and you planing is perfect.

James Mackenzie

I love the chapter, the concept of the wolf’s teeth is amazing and I love the angle you took for Brandon and Torrhen. The only complaint I would have is that Aerion feels a bit to flat as a character, he feels to dutiful and like a perfect heir. I know he has been raised to be like that but even before this chapter it feels like he has two personalities, one where he is the perfect heir who is fine with killing lots of people and another who builds pillow forts with his siblings and has pillow fights with them. I feel like Aerion needed to struggle more with what he has done but I also no that because he killed them from so far away it is easy to disassociate himself from his actions as a coping mechanism.
