Good question. I'd say they will not move and conquer most of Essos except for strategic areas like the Stepstones, Tyrosh, and Lys which are small in area and can be much more easily controlled with a strong army, navy, and ofc dragons. As for the plans to prevent a Dance of the Dragons, definitely stay tuned as it will feature in detail once the Conquest wraps up!

After the conquest of Westeros will they make a move and conquer Essos? If so how will they be able to hold and rule such a vast amount of lamd. And another question what plans are there to prevent a Dance of Dragons scenario?

Tertius711

Interesting idea, we shall see how things play out with the Night's Watch!

Matthew

I wonder if the Night Watch will rebel, all the Targaryen's enemies are there and the North is too weak to put down an rebellion right now. It would also give Aegon an excuse to change the Night Watch into his image so they don't end up like canon after decades of zero wars.

Tertius711

Wdyt of the targets the Targaryens chose? And yeah White Harbor needed to be spared for the North to have any worth left.

sonofr

Welp, that went about how I expected. No way the North got off for that one, assassination attempts like that mean examples have to be made. Glad you spared White Harbor though, it and the White Knife are key to controlling the flow of trade in the interior and destroying it would have crippled efforts to control the North for a long time.

Tertius711

Ah tbch I'm probably not going to write another ASOIAF fic after I finish Divide and Conquer and King of Knights. I've got plans for SW and Greek Mythology next :)

Lightisyhepathtosark

After you finish Divide and Conquer, have you ever thought of doing an Aegon II Si?

Tertius711

I think there's too much prejudice, paranoia, and hatred for the Targaryens to do such a thing right now tbch. The idea of recruiting skinchangers disgusts Rhaenys as we can see in this chapter. The library of Castle Black? It's been a while since I read the OG books. Castle Black's library has books on skinchanging?

Tertius711

It's unclear how much blame Brandon himself will get over a general hatred aimed at the Targaryens tbf. It's not like the Japanese blamed Yamamoto for attacking Pearl Harbor when they were getting firebombed by the USA lol. Ehh. White Harbor and Barrowton would be an overstretch to annex right now so they'll just leave the North entirely to its own devices and only come back later. They're really not in the mood to offer peaceful annexation to any part of the North right now given they barely stopped themselves from outright eradicating both White Harbor and Barrowton.

It'll be interesting to see Brandons pah in the future. He and the Wolf's Teeth are trying to get back to the North, but I doubt he will be welcomed by anyone if not straight chased ot of the North, his actions are what led to the Dragon's Wroth afterall, and I doubt anyone in the North will simply let that go after the deaths of so many and the destruction of even more in infrastructure. On another topic, I imagine Aegon and wives will be reaching out to White Harbour and Barrowtown in the meantime, to try to annex them peacefully, it'd make sense since the two towns now have bore witness to their power and I doubt want to challenge it, especially since I'd be suprised if the two towns could muster more than a few thousand men at best currently.

Wilder

Still sad you didn’t have Aegon find all the skin changing children of the north and riverlands to join the Eyes, Rangers, or Dragonguard. Maybe in the future when he better understands there magic from taking the books from the Library in castle black and the trams of that day isn’t fresh and fades away he could make his own skinchanger spy group, cuz if he could use them plus with there wealth and glass candles it would become the most powerful spy group in the world

Tertius711

I'm glad you love it! Wdyt of this chapter in particular?

Tj321

I love this story

Arcturus

Yep, after such big ass fail, Starks are the most hated family in the North. Why not Targaryens? Because dudes have dragons and that weren't them who started war against each other😅🤷‍♂️ Starks lost all their 8000' legacy and authority in just 3 months. It's just hilarious 😂 And Brandon... Well every single person from Dragonport to Wall would try kill that mother***er as soon as would see him. Aegon should make bounty and make dude the most wanted head in this part of world

AJ

I wanted Brandon dead but now the guilt of his actions will worse for him because he is the reason that all the castle in the north are destroyed , that the neck is in flames, and that his whole family is potentially dead. He was the one who pushed for the attack on the Targaryen children , when his brother talked about caution he advocated for it and he lost everything for his hubris .
