Some societies like the Runalymo aren't very knowledgeable in skills and know THAT cursed skills are bad but not WHY. Some cultures may even praise or require some cursed skills to be taken, skills, like manipulate mana, could be very beneficial as long as the users are aware of the risks and damages. There may even be highly trained cursed warriors who view it as a sacrifice for their king, empire, whatever. The Elder considered doing this for the Storm Wardens but Aly informed them that they don't have to take a cursed skill just a class with a version of that skill.

David Brims

I would have thought any halfway advanced society in this world would be aware that talented children under 10 could easily develop cursed skills and would give them training on cursed skills and how to avoid developing them. Basically: before experimenting, check with the skills expert so they can advise you if you're likely to develop a cursed skill, or what general skill you can develop that will achieve what you're trying to achieve by experimenting. The Runalymo should be taking these kids aside and making sure they are checking what they are doing with a skill expert. Aly would probably have ended up with some of her cursed skills anyway because she started developing them so young, but kids like Tana should not end up in this position

Cursed Skills are kinda weird in the fact that the talented can get them without meaning to which brings up the question of, what did those other talented people do in order to avoid the adverse effects of cursed skills

these cursed skills seem like a real blight on society. Finding a way to mitigate the issue they create would totally be a legendary action I think so I assume that means no one has done so already, since everyone would have seen the popup for it. Which means it's still up for grabs, hope she figuires it out. Changing or warping a cursed skill might have been done but I doubt that's a legendary action

Also, can't increase stats without a class.

The system is annoying that it punishes learning and exploration. Forcing someone to rely on it for everything. She could ignore her class and develop more cursed skills. She doesn't have to rely on the system this way.

Cursed skills are useful. As long as you know the curse you can get around it's limitations. It allows for a low level creature to easily take down a higher level one (like she did). She doesn't even need to take a class centered around the skill. She can take more cursed skills to complement it. Thus having two overpowered classes from nothing.

Vanta black paint calling the kettle black. "Do as I say, not as I do."
