Endurance: 10 [310] (+45) Wisdom: 24 [1224] (+673.2) Charisma: 18 [198] (+32) Wrong base stats again. Base Wisdom is 28 Base Charisma is 20 Endurance should get +25% from Nexus Immunity - 25% of 310 is 77,5 - Bonus not included, again. Wasn't included a single time in the story.

They do bear a suspiciously strong resemblance to bowling pins, don't they?

Venalitor

So Papuyo is to be stripped of her position? Either way. She's far to weak and uneducated to do anything other than bring a further calamity unto the Runalymo, and only that for her misguided faith. I'm still kinda confused that the storm wardens are linked to the clergy at all, or that the villages aren't training more independant of them now. That's just blind stupidity.

Knowledge, because a better understanding of reality leads to a better ability to mold reality to your own ends. Being able to do it better than others means you are also able to obtain economic advantages over other sovereignties that can be used to compound the advantages gained in all three domains. Art, because culture is what binds a people together towards shared goals and entertains and helps provide existential meaning to those weary from their hard and fruitful labor, and War, because being unable to defend oneself and survive against inevitable adversity will lead to some asshole stealing or destroying your knowledge and culture. Yep, Kayafe knew her shit when it came to civilization building.

That's what happens when you're ruled by a council of equals rather than having a proper chain of command. There needs to be at least an elected council president that's in charge of inter-village interior threats (this new terrorist group) and exterior threats (mana weather caused by high level entities dying) and has veto power against anything the council decides unless a supermajority is passed.

the idiocy of first past the post.

CyclopsSlayer

I was thinking the very same thing. The majority desired a harsher punishment, and what they got was 'Bad Priestess! Bad Priestess!' Like that has ever worked with the family dog...

CyclopsSlayer

Just look at the title of the chapter. It explains all. They suffer from that blindness that a zealot can be reformed. All they have done is sent the movement underground. They'll learn of their mistake as they wake to the blades of the Warriors of Myrou at their throats.

Imp

You know, just realized that vote is weird. 123 elders voted for some kind of punishment. "Warning" votes are actually a minority.

I think, the biggest problem is that they have no precedent for dealing with a fanatic and other similar situations so they don't really have a good idea of how these types of things can go. After all if they knew their own history well they would have been able to tell that putting so much worship and devotion into a single minded thing could end so bad. Also on a kind of unrelated note I assume that the reason that the three great spirits picked by Kayafe have to do with balance because Art, War, and, Knowledge seem to be pretty useful for a developing civilization. So it might be a good idea to at least bring back the knowledge that they did in fact worship three great spirits in the beginning so that they would not be overly focused on one specific thing.

Finally, a vote is cast, with thirty-four being for exile, eighty-nine for stripping Papuyo of her Priesthood, and ninety-two for a warning. ninety-two for a warning which was the highest votes and as there is no mention of a revote to add the thirty-four people who voted for exile into the stripping of priesthood pretty sure she is left of with just warning

Kemizle

This is inept handling of a dangerous situation

Kemizle

Isn’t that what they did? Stripping her priesthood?

Kemizle

I didn’t realize that CHA does that. She should definitely do that

Atigasgas

At the rate this is going, there'll be a revolt waiting for the warriors when they get out of the dungeon, and at that point fighting back will only make things worse.

Atigasgas

Are the elders really that incompetent? They know she is trying to gain power and yet they settle on warning her? What is a warning going to do anyway? Get her even more hellbent on becoming a dicactor and giving her ammunition to sway public opinion while not doing anything to fight back? At the very least they should talk to the general public and explain the situation, what Aly has done for them, and how there was once a prisstess long ago who wanted to rule thier race and it ended on disaster.

ClapTrapCL4TP

if they gave up on the exile they could have gotten away with stripping priesthood

Imp

She should put more in CHA. She wants faster spellcasting too!!

thkiw

Alyserra was the one who prevented all of those disasters... damn. Even I feel betrayed.
