I still don't get the idea of this whole plot. The elders are like "yeah, let's give those murderous people months to prepare! That way it'll be easier to beat them!" and Alysara is like "oh yeah, that's a mighty sound strategy. We should also not check on them at all, at any point, for any reason! It's not as if any of us can scry them from quite far away!".

I actually think Aly is being to helpful most of the time, especially since she doesn't get a lot back form the service she provide to her comunity, she has being asked to provide things like the airships cores since she came up with it, I get the feeling she does most of those things because she think she expected to do them when asked and doesn't know how to handle the social pressure that come frome refusing a service others are used to get form her, I think she would rather spend her time coming up with new enchantments, leveling, and generally messing around with her skills then doing dresses because others want them or airships because an elder asked, it looks like she is getting constantly taken advantage of even in the comunity based society she lives in, what she offer and provide is way more than what she get back, I'm surprised she doesn't sneak in to the dungeon just to explore or spend more time with the guardian

While I don't necessarily agree with others that Aly should be taking control over the war effort (imho, the problem isn't leadership decisions, its the low level people realizing that they need to take the preparations and security seriously, which is not something Aly is equipped to handle)... I do think that Aly should be doing something more. Yes, she's a kid, but, fundamentally, she's the main character. Protagonists need to be active, not passive. And being passive is exactly what's going on in this chapter. War is announced, and what does the MC do? Go back to the exact same things she's been doing. No planning, no securing her home and friends' home, no creating a fairy-based security patrol, no using her post-storm clout to worm her way into the elder meeting, no just launching a fairy drone strike. Just skill grinding and crafting, same as always.

I’d be watching out for islands that start to support Temple Island especially on islands where all the Elders were killed.

Because she’s a kid lol? Sure she has past life knowledge, but she has none of the memories. She’s probably in too much shock to start quoting the art of war. It would also be hella suspicious to her village, as her patron isn’t a war goddess.

Why isn't Aly more persistent with handing out war-related wisdom? Someone just says to her 'Let the adults handle it', and Aly's just like, 'Okay'. It doesn't seem like it's about fear of her past life being discovered. Aly just seems way too complacent for no good reason.

Jachin Nelson

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Aly is the only one that knows how to do 'war' on these islands. Even if she wasn't a soldier in her past life, playing war games on a computer would still give her a far better reference then anybody else

Robert Mullins

Because it's been so long since they've had actual major conflicts that weren't against monsters that they don't have an intuition around tactics/strategy when dealing with people.

Considering the terrible fire they had a few years back it’s real messed up that they’d intentionally start fires in their own community. Also why let Tana’s parents and other like them leave. It would be better to lock them up then let the enemy bolster their forces.
