So, fun fact, ponies like this are a less-than-secret passion of mine. I love the training, I love the dehumanisation. Unlike pets, quite often ponies are just beasts of burden and are there to be turned into tools and made to complete tasks. Whether this is pulling carts, doing dressage, running slaloms, or just being groomed in the stalls that they are locked in within the stables.
Lines of faceless, rubber mares, so obediently conditioned to be the good animals that they are. They live in the stables, because that's simply where they are kept - they don't belong inside houses because that would be ridiculous.
Plus you do also get to pet them and treat them affectionately, and they can be so proud in this act of submission. Such noble animals, but animals nonetheless.
