Happy new year! This is a quick message to let you know that yes, we are back on deck, and yes, our first video of the year is coming! And as you can see from the photos, we've dived straight into the deep end of with Dutton's nuclear "plan".
I was hoping to publish this HGA by the end of January (today), but my poor brain needed a bit of time to transition from Lego with the kids to nuclear power plants and Liberal Party bullshit; and I didn't want to rush it - or resort to writing a simplistic "nuclear bad" video... So long story short: it took a little longer than planned to make our January HGA.
But fear not, we recorded and filmed the video this week with Lucy and Zoë, and I am now editing it, so it will be out in just a few days. I don't have the audio preview yet, as I'm still editing that too, but in the meantime, here's a screenshot to whet your appetite. Yup, it's a good ol' Liberal Party HGA for old times sake.

We need firming power, so Gas is the obvious backstop for renewables, but Nuclear "may" have a place, depending on battery tech evolution and whether it is sufficient to handle intermittent renewables gen. Of course you are cooked if you think Nuclear would be ready within the next 30 years.
