Sneak Peek and Stream Requests

Here’s a wee sneak peek of stuff I’ve been doodling on when I havent been drawing the comic (that is going good by the way)!
First off we have some updated character designs for a little spin-off comic I’m hoping to take a crack at when I have more time on my hands. Essentially it’d be a ”second campaign” running parallel with The Weekly Roll with the same fictional DM but with some other players. Bit like ”hey, you guys wanna join in on this other campaign I’m gonna host in my world, gonna play on Thursdays”, atleast that’s the idea for the meta. Nothing is set in stone yet, been doodling on what the characters could be and writing some stories. The comic would be in color though so thats cool!
Next up we have some Warhammer 40K stuff! One is a goofy idea I got from a comment on Reddit (the cheesy tomance novel) and the other one is something from my Instagram: I held some polls there to create a party of mercenaries, gonna finish that up later. Might do some comic strips about the party at some point, I have written a couple already! Of course, that is if I ever get enough time.
Speaking of not enough time: alas, there was no stream this month. Still, if you have any ideas of what you’d like me to draw on stream (when I get to it) feel free to add them in the comments below! I’ve added the ones you suggested last month in my vault already, looking forward to doing some streaming (hopefully next month).
General update: I’m good! The kid is growing and brings with him a bunch of stress while gobbling up any and all free time I can get my hands on but it’s so worth it!

I was fairly new to Vostroyans myself so I was on the same page at first. They share similar themes with the Kriegers but a lot less... grim? From my understanding, Vostroyans give their firstborns to the astra militarum to repent for not sending military aid during the Horus Heresy. But yeah, much more about family honor and tradition, weapons being passed down through the generations etc. but both legions are also expected to die in battle. I read that it's basically unheard of for Vostroyans to retire (happened like once) so while the Vostroyans are less "put a melta on my and throw me at that tank" suicidal, they are joining the Guard with a clear expectation that it'll end in their deaths. But I agree with ya on the overall tone, Kriegers seem to be "die for the sins of my people" while Vostroyans seem to be more "I serve loyally till my last breath for the sins of my people". Or something like that!

One question though: I thought it was just Kriegers that were looking to die in the Emperor's Service for their world's past sins? Vostroyans are awesome but I thought their service was more about family honor and tradition (hence Firstborn). Welcome to be corrected on this point.

I don’t know enough about 40k to get the full reference, but I know enough to know I want a light rom-com action movie with the described grimdark ending twist.
