...So there are NO hackers on the Twilight Council? This is *barely* one step above, "Hey! Tech support here; there's a particularly nasty virus going around and we need your password to update your antivirus program." To be specific, this is how Hunt got to the Prime Minister in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation; "A RED Spy is in the base! We need to protect the briefcase! Let's go check the vault to make sure it's still there!"

I believe the point is that they didn't specifically offline anything about the vault. They didn't realise that the stuff they did offline would have any effect on the vault whatsoever. (i.e. that the warning system would be using their now-downed telephone lines to let them know that a breach had occurred).

If that's what's in there, I would have offlined a dozen other things except anything about that vault. Truly a Sydney level brainfart if there ever were one that wasn't from her--probably the universe should leave those farts to just Sydney, no one else can handle their magnitude
