So is this one of her normal superhuman abilities, or did she get possessed by the spirit vortex that just came through the portal from the other planet? Both? I have reread this a dozen times and I'm still not clear.

Also curious about the blues lines on the empty shell. Presumably she left behind a modicum of power to hold the shell in stasis and prevent anything else that happened to come by from infiltrating and inhabiting it in her absence. But there may be another explanation I'm not seeing.

Have to wonder what sorts of senses she has as energy tendrils. And in the shell for that matter. After carting it out of a collapsed mountain, she wasn't sure it was unscratched until she could utilize her shell "eyes". When you think about it, we are all shells. Just most of us can't come back after we leave. Of the few that claim to have done so (mostly near-death, or on the operating table), I can't recall any that also claim to have carted around physical items of any type.
