I would assume Frix would know the answer, and this was a nicely phrased reminder from Dabbler that Sydney ought to talk with him anyways.

Eric Loken

While Frix may be familiar with the need for the potion, that didn't really answer Sydney's question of who needs to drink it.

Tim

I am not surprised in the least, and yet I still have questions. X3

Jerard

Oh, I started off thinking you were going a different way with that.

Lia

I did the conversion and I have to say that Sydney would have to be at least three times her current size to accommodate that thing. Also - I know this is all a joke and everything, but relationships have ended bitterly and sadly over size differences - both ways.

Curtis

I wasn't going to zoom in on this b/c I got the drive of Syndey's slide show but I'm SO glad I did for the text on that last slide :-P

Donald Randolph

So, Syndey and Frix previous encounters were just up to 3rd base?

I'm more surprised that there are authors who can manage to follow an outline for what they write. I've tried doing some writing myself, had a very rough outline for where it was going, and I've had to revise everything past the beginning of that outline a half dozen times, and I'm not even through the very, very, very broad scope of what that outline was covering yet, nor have I 'finalized' as much as a half dozen segments of the story yet (by 'finalized' I mean it is ready for publishing and won't need more than minor edits, if it even needs that much), and it was only meant to have ten segments (and the outline I do have doesn't even go that far). I find it perfectly acceptable that you just kinda write and let it go where it goes. Such stories tend to be far more organic in nature, and with some editing to make sure everything transitions smoothly also tend to have a much better flow to them since nothing was forced to happen. I can say that from the example you gave I MIGHT give that audio book a full hour to convince me it's worth finishing, mostly because of the cumulative length of it, but if the author kept pulling stunts like that (without the benefit of a SSSS.GRIDMAN type explanation) I would probably also label it a bad buy and drop it without finishing it (which is extremely rare for me, out of the couple hundred or so audio books I've listened to it's only happened three times).

Can’t help but hope that they both end up drinking it, and Frix shrinks but Syd doubles in size and they’ve got the opposite problem. Syd probably wouldn’t mind being tall for a while though!

Doug Northcote

Looking forward to reading your Tamer 2 book. Thought you did a bang up good job on the first one and was quite a fun and pretty fast paced read as well.

Darastrix Sthyr

If it's not, I will be VERY disappointed! And confused, because honestly it would be such a wasted opportunity!

Kevin Wright

Given that the subtitle says the potion is colloquially known as the "half-breeder", I'd say it was a, um, size reduction.

Seth Ruskin

A person not used to being deemed attractive/wanted and/or not used to being in such situations can take a while to become comfortable discussing sex and being sexual. Some require a long time, especially if there's self-esteem or body image issues. It's not that unrealistic.

Seth Ruskin

Or Sydney never broached the topic in her awkward embarrassment. Which is why Dabbler pointed out that Frix IS familiar with the potion.

Jerard

This is funny and cute but it actually makes Frix look like stupid or like a dick. He would look stupid for not planning ahead for a problem that, as Dabbler says, he is necessarily familiar with especially since he is very well acquainted with Sydney's size, all over. It seems to me that he can't be that stupid since he is a spacefaring wolf engineer and I believe his high intelligence has been discussed in the comic. So he is a dick because he apparently figures it is the woman's responsibility even though he has no reason to believe that Sydney has any knowledge of such a potion.

Torin

So, a teaser for the next month's incentive?

Les Bonser

I follow this comic only for Sydney. But I can't decide if her continued naiveté/embarrassment about sex is still cute, or just getting annoying.

Stephen Gilberg

I'm a proofreader. I'd give it a shot.

Critical Hit

So the question is, how does the potion effect things? Change relative size, increase elasticity, heal during the act? A variety of options as to what it actually does.

GMScooter

"The Half-Breeder" LOL Almost fell outta my chair!

Jabber

...sooo, Frix's red rocket is more like a Falcon Heavy?

Justaguy

The guy who took over after Jordans death did a decent job wrapping it up in 3 books.

Seth Ruskin

I've been waiting for this issue to come up. I knew it was going to happen. Low hanging fruit, as it were... I'll see myself out.

furry

About Jordan, yeah i agree, he had an annoying habit of keeping introducing more and more characters, instead of actually follow the was gallery of people he had already introduced. I never did read the last books. I loved it for a long time when i was young, but it simply dragged on and on and kept introducing people and yet more strangeness without anything really being resolved much. (ok a big simplification, but you get the drift even if it was not completely accurate)

Magraal

170k words is about a 450 page book which may be a lot for people who don't read fantasy novels but well.... for people who DO read fantasy novels, that's actually a bit below average. Most of the Wheel of Time series border on 1000 pages each, for instance, though Robert Jordan was known for maybe writing a little bit *too much*

Peter H

170K words, who are you? Drew Hayes?

Damaged

Woo! 11'8"! Now 11'8+8", though still cutting the tops off trucks.
